True, but then the shoulders might be too low. My idea is to have a swiveling hinge mechanism sort of like WW primes arms. I'll scan a sketch and post it when I get a chance. I think something like that would keep with the cartoon bot look while still retaining strength of the cab.

wow, i really like the job you did on this and ironhide.  one question though, are you gonna take a hand cannon from alt shockblast?  i remember ironhide and ratchet having a hand that could swap out for a nozzle that could be a freeze cannon, or a welding tool depending on what was needed.

Yes I plan on that for the final version. Good point Scruffy, I'm surprised noone else mentioned that.

Body is too bulky, head too far upwards from the shoulders

Here's a basic idea of the fix I'm going to use to get the arms higher and more forward.

 

 

Remember, these prototypes use a VW van kit which, even though it's the same 1/24 scale, is considerably larger (and boxier).

 

Also the hinge placement in that sketch is a bit low. It will have to be moved higher to properly position the arms. The real challenge will be to make that mechanism sturdy & stable.

That is still amazing work, no matter what has been said.
