Cybertron Excellion

Recommended Posts

Even though it's the same fig, I really want this toy.

Excellion is an awesome repaint! I don't have the original Hot Shot, but I think his visor is either repainted or he has a new head mold. I compared it with CD Hot Shot and there are some differences.

To tell you truth i'm still more partial to the original color myself.  This is an awesome repaint and i'm going to pick him up as soon as i see him, but for me the original was  the one toy that sold me on the fact that Galaxy Force/Cybertron was actually taking a step forward in character design rather than a step back, unlike two previous series i need not mention.  :roll

Does anyone elses have a two-tone look? It looks like the doors were painted some glossy red color, but the rest of the car is DULL red plastic. Or..is that just mine?

It's just painted.  The visor was originally translucent yellow, but because it's on the same parts tree as all the other clear plastic on him, Excellion'd have a dark blue visor, which'd just look odd.  So they painted over it in gold.

His arms have the three friggin arm cannons that ole' Hot Rod and Rodimus had! HOORAY!

It's on the inside of the car door, but it rocks cause I totally wasn't expecting such an obvous homage.

so i guess you didn't own cybertron hot shot then :tflaugh

I've seen this guy, and Override GTS... and passed on both. I like both molds, to be sure, but I am trying to stick (at least as much as I can) to characters that were actually in the show, as opposed to buying stuff just 'cuz I can.

As such... they are not on my radar.

I picked one up yesterday, (passed on a second one I saw) and I sat it on top of my desk at work and waited till the end of the day to open it.  Told a few people how others were paying $100 for the Japanese one that came with the DVD set.  So $10 ain't bad at all.

As soon as I got it home, I grabbed my extra Hot Shot (blue) and took them apart to swap wings...took about an hour to find one of the springs which sprung and then to figure out how they sat in the toy.  (There's a little tinny pin hole where the 1 end of the spring in the loop sticks up, so that the other part that sticks out to the side and in the wing).

Now its a lot better.  Tempted to paint the arm guns, make a decal for his chest, and repaint possibly sculpt the head.
