I really don't consider educating someone "thread crapping".

In your back-to-the-corner defense, one common theme you successfully relayed in your response is that you think that you should openly have the opportunity to screw someone else because of your good fortune, without fear of opposition.

If you like it or not, this is a public forum. Feel free to charge $77 for one small piece of an entire set that cost you $45, but also be prepared to hear others who don't share your vision of entrepreneurship.

I have no problem questioning your motives when they are obviously so sketchy. Call it thread crapping, or spamming, or whatever you feel like calling it, as long as it makes you feel better about scamming others. You are the one who has to live with your concience, not I.

Also, continuously bumping this thread up to the top hardly has any benefit to you in the long run. All it does is jeopardize your credibility as a valid seller.

so charging market value for something is stealing?

I need to re-take some of those economics classes. Thanks for the tip!

me no likey the pricey. for that price i'd rather buy a masterpiece prime or a ths-02 convoy. after  all they have diecast and way more poseability and replay value than a toy the size of a booger  that would probably get lost or worse yet "eaten by my Sharkticon pet "Scruffy", but remember sell to me @ high prices 'shame on you', if i buy @ high prices ' shame on me'.    remember if you have an itch, scratch it.  :)

You know, I can see this situation from both perspectives.

From Robotsongs:

You have an opportunity to make some cash. To be honest, $60 U.S. for WST Hot Rod is a bit steep, but that's not unreasonable. Think about it, G1 Optimus Prime goes for insane amount of cash (I see a loose G1 Optimus Prime going for $120 U.S.) and I know it doesn't worth that much, yet people buy it regardless. I know right now I can hear Optimus Prime fans/worshippers going "but it's OPTIMUS PRIME!!!!!" - the same logic applies here. For Hot Rod fans who are looking to get a WST Hot Rod, they will shell the bucks if they really want one. In that case, Robotsongs will be more than happy to provide one - for a price, a price which he, by the virtue of ownership and his rights as a seller, to set as low or as high as he wishes.

From people who thinks Robotsongs is selling WST Hot Rod for too much:

Seeing how a toy should worth only so much, even though the item itself is rare, should only be demanding a reasonable price, especially if the item is readily available in the market. To practice what Robotsongs is doing is to encourage an already out of control seller's market to further raise the price of items which, its original intent is to be enjoyed by all, would make the hobby increasingly inaccessible to many. It wouldn't be fair if fandom has people who were waiting for a certain figure only to find out that upon its release, it has already fallen into the hands of people whose only interest is not to enjoy the toy (which fandom can live with) but to line their pockets with cash that could have been used to buy other figures. Entrepreneurship is one thing but scalping, as most posters in this thread believes is happening, is unforgivable, especially from a fellow Transformers fan.

I am in the middle of this one. I think Robotsong has the right to sell the toy as he wants, but as I said, $60 is a bit steep.

it is too rich for my blood, but 60 IS fair marketvalue its not like you are selling a anni prime for 100 bucks :igrot

for the record, people are Blotting on you cause it has become an expectation that the board would get a better than ebay price.

since no one asked you that I dont know if you would do that

by the way there is nothing to say that the expectation is the rule, but consider this if you are willing to cancel an auction, you should be willing to lower the price that you save by NOT listing it on ebay,  just a thought

if my rambling doesnt express it RS i dont see anything wrong with your posts or auctions

I never saw a problem with $60 for the WST Hot Rod, fair market value is fair market value. This isn't meant to be "House O' Deals" or something. As long as you're not ripping anyone off (and I don't think you are), then screw it.

I think that's a pretty darn fair assesment of both sides, both of which I can see.

Look, if you check on ebay and see something going for a certain price, multiple times and bid up by multiple bidders, you're going to think that that's the price it goes for. I'm not independently wealthy, and getting something like this, to me, is like getting a lottery ticket. Frankly, I'm not a big hotrod fan, and I don't want to keep this one, so I go and offer it up at the price I've seen it going at. I'm sorry if that's too high for you, but then again, if you weren't interested in buying it in the first place, and you already knew of somewhere else to get it for cheap, then why did you have to call me out in the thread? By all means, post where to get it for everyone else so we all can have one, unless there isn't a place to get it readily, which means it's scarce.

Scarcity of an item on the market usually raises its value, be it property, jewelry, collectibles, cars... whatever. You're probably well aware of this. This is why lucky draw pieces command prices in the $1000's.

And they're not for everybody, but there are people out there, of which is it to thier interest to pay thousands of dollars for a toy. Same too, but on a much smaller scale with an item like this.

Look, if I was making $100K a year I probably wouldn't sell this thing for much, but I'm not. If given the chance to make a bit of money of something to get another toy, then why not? If there's people out there that feel that the toy is worth $60, then why not cater to them?

I found an old BanDai VF-1S Strike Valkyrie at a flea market, 99% complete in it's box, for $15.  I've been seeing them go for ~$250 lately, a couple years back they were going for over $400. Should I then, using your logic, sell it for what I got it for out of the kindness of my heart? I should hope not, and my wallet doesn't subscribe to that version of economics.

Look... apparently it's pretty darn offensive to some here, so I'll edit it all out and delete it.  Thanks for your opinion.
