MP-03?

What's annoying me about the Fanwanking is that people jump to conlusions it  WILL be Starscream. But what if they are suprising us by doing Thundercracker or Skywarp first?

This figure would represent a huge investment on Takara's part, I'm sure they would want to lead off with the most desirable figure possible.

Actually, such a thing isn't unheard of.

One of my other hobbies is collecting die-cast racing model cars.  There is a company called Exoto that's made a model of the Mercedes C9 that won LeMans in 1989.  The version that everybody wants is car #63, the actual race winner.  What have they released?  Cars #61, #62 and earlier versions of the car from 1987.

The reasoning is:  releasing the less desired versions first, the company has maximized the return on the molds - those that can't wait to have at least one version of the car will buy one (or more) of the earlier versions, and then also buy the #63 version when it's eventually released.

However, the fact that this toy contains a crown accessory means the point is moot - it's Starscream.

this logic is logically logical

I get this, I'm just thinking that Takara is going to want a home run on this release. Like I said before, all the resources that would have gone into something like this are going to need a payoff, especially at this point.

Yeah, I figured that was the case.

I just wanted to point out an example of when a company decides to pepper the field with base hits prior to banging one out of the park.

Like the SS and other seekers, if they pull it off as well as MP Prime.

After that...why not Masterpiece Soundwave with working radio/MP3 player. Maybe a Rumble and Laserbeak, each having a USB interfaced storage built in for uploading tunes.

Rumble and Laserbeak as memory sticks, you mean? That'd be sweet!

Kind of. Make them Transformable into what looks like casettes (assuming G1-ness of Masterpiece Soundwave) but at the center solid part of each 'tape' where there's an edge, there'd be a USB 2.0 interface to a memory stick inside.

See what I mean?

Might be too pricey for most then- maybe make that the super deluxe version.

Still, back on track- Here's hoping this is legit and we're realistically looking at a MP Seeker mold. This would be excellent. If there's enough compression in say, the legs adn part of the torso, you could end up with a bot based on the F-15 eagle that is reasonably sized towards the Alts. Just a tad shorter than Prime but plenty taller than the Alt cars.

I find it odd whenever discussions about an MP Soundwave come up.... I loved the toy (first one I ever had), I loved the character on the show..... but talking about him as an MP3 player or something makes my brain hemorrhage.

here we go

I think the desire for a MP-SW would be based on having a "Working Model"

Now with MP3-Players (soundwave as an MP3 should have been MP-03  :tflaugh) the idea of a working model for SW and the Cassetes are a possibility.

That being said - i agree with LMH - i prefer SW as a survelence Vehicle of somesort.

hey, I never said that

I'd be up for Soundwave as an actual cassette recorder as opposed to a microcassette recorder... he could be bigger that way and still be essentially the same thing.

And no I don't mean "working tape recorder", that idea is too ghey for words

I want a MP Soundwave Cybertronian lamppost.
