Given the characters' personalities though, it's probably more like:

Hot Shot: Front line infantry

Scattorshot: ranged support

Red alert: Last line of defense

He is cool, I like him.  My only complaint is that his "forehead protecter" is not transparent anymore... I wanted to replace it with Hotshot's head but it wasn't possible =P

does anyone else think that his "hunting knife" doesn't really fit him?

^ um i guess :tflaugh

yeah i wandered off abit there. i got caught up in a image of battle going through my mind

CD hotshot being smaller then Hotshot ruined this figure for me, plus hes a lil to bulky for my liking for such a small figure

That pissed me off too. Car Hotshot is one of the tallest Deluxes out there. What an upgrade. Scattorshot and Redalert got much better growth spurts

I assume he's got it for the same reason as Gundam Heavyarms did.  His weapons are all artillery-firing, and thus consumable.  The combat knife gives him options once he runs out of ammo.

I love these upgrades. Leave it to gun crazy studio Gonzo to make them so awesome in the show. :thumb

I am VERY disappointed in CD Hot Shot's articulation...

Armorhide has much better articulation and he is a BASIC!

I love the details and the alt mode,

but I just wish the balljoints, swivels and hinges

matched the other deluxes of this line...

Crosswise was AWSOME! What happened?

Anyone else share a similar opinion?

Or better yet, anyone have any ideas

to mod the stiffness?

Armorhide doesn't have the bulky armor to conflict with said articulation.  Hot Shot's not really any less articulated than any other figure.  On par with the original Red alert at least.  The only thing he's missing is waist and bicep articulation.

I just picked him up the other night...was just playing with him this morning, and I gotta say he's pretty awesome despite the stiffness...there's only two things I wish they had done, was included an additional knife so he could have both 'sleeves' holding a knife, and put the red 'bumper' guns on top on a ball joint to twist them around. He seriously reminds me of a fusion between Hotshot, Overload(missles!) and Optimal Optimus(flip the force chip slot toward's HS's head and rotate the guns back. They stick out similar to OpOp's..same with his bulky-ish shoulders)...and a smidge of Wing Saber(lower torso.)

You're forgiven. We're all geeks here...

Anyways... Exigeyser/Hotshot is awesome and should be in any post G1 collection.
