Beast Machines boxed set discounted at Suncoast

I watched the first DVD on Tuesday night (including commentary & interviews), last night I watched the "Revelations" three-parter. I'm hopefully going to finish the first season tonight.

BTW Wolfman approached the fan issue from a different angle, since he wasn't in the midst of all the brouhaha about BM... though had fans known the extent of his involvement at the time, he might have been more of a target. He spoke about the inherent conservatism of most fans, and how that attitude is often at odds with creativity and moving a franchise forward.

I wonder what theh ell his little plot device designed to bring back that version of the flash incase it was ever needed is.... he mentioned it in the foreword to the book, and said that if you corner him at a comic convention, be realy nice about it, and he's in a good mood, he'll tell ya what it is.

For a series like BM, I can definitely appreciate the problems w/ reinventing a property. Fans can be great, or they/we can be a pain the ass. I can definitely see where the problems arose w/ BM and the die-hard G1ers, but the producers and writers behind BM meant well. They tried to create something new and exciting and I think, for the most part succeeded.

I know that Madhammer and I disagree strongly on which direction they should go w/ the new live action movie, but as far as the concept behind BM is concerned (ie the intent was to make something new and exciting), I think we agree that they did what they set out to do and it turned out pretty damn well.

Oh and Madhammer, I forgot to ask, are you making your kids watch it w/ you, or is that daddy's "private" time???  :D

My kids love Beast Machines... they discovered it when I LEGALLY ACQUIRED LEGAL COPIES OF IT THROUGH LEGAL MEANS

<_<

Glad to hear you are enjoying your "legal" copies.

It is always good to hear that a father can find something that he can enjoy sharing w/ his kids.

However, I think they wonder why one of the Megatron toys turns into a bug.
