Got mine today from DeepDiscount. I haven't had a chance to check it out yet, but the first thing I am gonna do is watch all those interviews. I dying to see what Skir has to say, and Kaye is my 2nd favorite VA so I can't wait to see that one either.

Bout time they released this series.

Watched the interview w/ Bob Skir, and all I can really say about that is that he was, shall we say, guarded in his answers. He said more by how he said things, but his official answers were of course designed to not offend anyone.

My favorite part of the interview was the segment on fans voicing their opinions online and how they may get a little carried away. He had some good solid advice, which came from what I consider an outside source (ie someone just coming into TFs). Granted he was very much involved in TFs for a time, but coming into it, he clearly didn't know how strong the fanbase actually was, and some of the reactions obviously surprised him.

Anyway, the interview could have been better and more informative, but it was well worth watching, if only to get a feel for one of the key minds behind the show.

I think he just didn't want to be petty...

I thought it was interesting to see that he was just as aware and mindful of the character changes between BW and BM as the fans were.... I guess when you hear enough fan bitching for long enough, you start to believe that he might have actually been oblivious. but obviously he wasn't

I thought he did do a good job of balancing what he wanted to say and what he actually said. I agree that he did a great job explaining how the characters changed from BW to BM and w/in BM as well.

It was interesting to note that he did confirm that it was not his idea to go "religious." The companies were pushing for it and he just decided to run w/ it and go as far as possible.

I still love BM (both the show and the figures), and I would love to see that quality of writing in a show again. Let's face it, Cybertron is a great improvement on Armada and Energon, but it still can't compare to BW and BM.

I can't wait to see the Wolfman and Kaye interviews when I get home.

The Marv Wolfman interview was really good too. I didn't realize just how much of the show came from his brain. I had previously only heard that he came up with the idea for the Vehicons.

I also liked what he had to say about the fans :tflaugh

Skir certainly did give him a lot of credit. I am guessing that he said something similar to what Skir said about the fans. I knew I should have watched that one last night.

Oh, and did you sit down and watch the entire set yet? Or is that this weekend???

(I will probably just watch one episode a day until I am done)

    • Please tell me this won't be the only release of TFP Cliffjumper...
    • If you've not had your fill of Transformers collaborative news today, here is some more with a leaked product listing for the Project Knight: Transformers X Knight Rider crossover. We've been dreaming of this one, and it appears a transforming K.I.T.T. will be coming as soon as August! It must be something big and or special with a $49. - Read the Full News Story
    • Tonight on GotBot Goes Live, we talked Transformers news for the newest multipack and some reissues. We also talked collaboratives with TMNT, an Ectotron reissue and, maybe, even Star Wars? Plus, we address the MP Ginrai teaser image and answer who is Riggorus?
    • EDIT 2: Okay, I think my real problem with this was the marketing image. The main image shows four robot turtles standing together, so I was ready for four toys, not one. Admittedly, I was so disappointed that I did not bother to read the article fully. That's my fault. I apologize. That said, now that I understand it is THE van that turns into a robot, not "robot versions of the four turtles," that makes more sense, but I don't get the four heads. There are images here of a bandana free head which I gather is not included. I would actually prefer a non-specific generic turtle head for the robot. I think that would remove a lot of confusion. At least for me. EDIT 1: My bad, I misunderstood. It's one toy with swappable heads. So, you made a thing based on a four member team, and you only want to sell one toy? You're not even trying to get people to "Collect all FOUR!" You do understand how toy sales work, right? Original Comment: This is a perfectly fine idea executed TERRIBLY. You made four unique toys, each specific to each of the Ninja Turtles, that all turn into the same vehicle? It would be one thing if they joined together to form the van. There have been transformer sets like that before. This is just wasted opportunity. Not to mention, that van exists for the turtles to ride in together as a team, so if they can turn into vehicles ... what do they need a van for? I get that that's their van, and that's cute and all, but ... this is just dumb and disappointing. Why not think about what kind of car each of them would drive based on their personalities, or ask some car company if they want to do a tie-in promotional? What do I want with four copies of the same van and no one to ride in any of them? It makes no sense.
