Package error on CD Red Alert?

Recommended Posts

I walked into Walmart today, and went to the Transformers. To my surprise, they had CD Hotshot! :thumb  But while looking for an extra Scourge, I saw CD Red alert.  No surprise, but his box just said Red alert.  The one behind it said Cybertron Defense Red alert, but the ones on the top shelf also said just Red alert. Is this a misprint, or an alternate packkage? :tfhuh

It's one of the early versions of CD Red alert. They were later changed to say CD Red alert.

"J00 SHOULD BUY IT! IT WILL BE WORTH MOREZORZ! CUZ IT'S A VARIANT!"

Sounds dumb, doesn't it? :D

In all seriousness though, I'd consider picking one up. It may actually be worth money down the road.

Its amazing how silly things are worth more

Yeah seriously.  :wtf  I remember when i was first exposed to this kind of stuff while working at Toys R Us a couple of years back.  One of the overnight guys who knew i collected TFs and Gundam and such and such pulled me to the side to show me a Crow figure he found that was mispackaged on a Spawn Figure card.  He was jumping off the walls w/ excitement telling me how much it would be worth on eBay.  I agreed that it would most likely be worth more than a correctly carded figure, but only because somebody with a wild hair up his ass for whatever reason would bid more for it.  I never really understood that myself, but hey whatever floats your boat i guess.

There are two left, anyone else want one?

Best example: look at Bumblejumper

bumblejumper is totally different then just a name being slightly different..he was a figure that was not supposed to be released in the line that accidently ended up out on Bumblebee and cliffjumper cards.

I still like the fact that not long after Cybertron came out, they started packaging the Super Starscreams differently.  I went on to ebay once to peruse around not long after, and some guy had one of the ones in the first type of packaging, and the auction said "SUPER ULTRA RARE CYBERTRON STARSCREAM PACKAGING VARIANT", yet I still see some Starscreams packaged like they were at first, despite the fact I know that they tend to be shelf warmers.
