Official Cybertron Metroplex Pictures

City alt mode would be nice. That I definitely agree on. METROplex. They didn't name him that because he's "metro-sexual". Anyway, it's still got potential. I hope it looks that good when it's produced.

Even if they did - the Metrosexual identity is an "Urban" creation... thus the Citiy is still just as valid.

Well, I have the GF version, and other than the 'photoshop' effects detailed above he looks about the same.

Robot mode is nice, as is brute mode. Alt mode is 'meh'. The small LOC metallic Optimus is a nice touch as well. Definitely paid a little too much at the import store, IMO.

Hasbro should follow suit by including neat little extras as an incentive to buy their products over the GF version.

Trust me I'm not buying Metroplex for his alt mode. Personally I don't think anybody is. Alt modes are nice to swap between but like most collectors it's the bot mode which spends the most time on the shelf. :thumb

Unless of course they're Energon Terracons. They all are forever confined to alt mode.

:puke

Problem with this mentality is that we are buying TRANSFORMERS for a reason.

and if we weremeant to get all gooshy over non transforming robots -well we would buy things liek Spawn the Cyborg or something.

Interesting theory.

I'm not saying it doesn't pay to get Transformers with decent alt modes, just that the toy itself see's more display time in bot mode despite weather it's good or bad. Personally I prefer bots with decent alt modes, but with some a compromise in the design has obviously been made.

Reguardless of whether the alt/bot mode suck I'm finding myself buying Transformers more and more opposed to just being really cool toys. This basically contradicts everything I've tried to say form the beginning and that's thanks in part to finally actually getting into TF shows like Beastwars, and the various fansubs. Two examples off the top of my head. I now have 10th Aniversary Cheetor, and Waspinator and absolutely hate them as toys but can appreciate them for the characters they represent. Same can be said for Energon Ironhide. Hate the toy, but after seeing Superlink love the character. Sorry to drift off topic but to some of us collecting Transformers is a lot more than just having some toy that can swap back and forth.

On topic. Metroplex/Megaloo Convoy wasn't an outstanding character but he is still an awsome toy nonetheless, and besides he has the last chip that goes into Primus's Omegalock.    ;)

Curious though. If Metroplex did turn into a fortress/base how much more exciting it that really. Unless he's the size of Brave Max I can't see him being all that impressive. For what he is represented in Cybertron/Galaxy Force, and considering where he comes from I think this alt mold suits him just fine. :thumb

I think the name Metroplex works fine considering, he's the leader of a race of giant City building robots.

Oh...and he is awesome.  I can't wait for the Giant planet characters to start shipping.

Pics really don't do him justice, in person he's an amazing bot, excellent articulation, great color scheme.  His alt mode is still a little strange, but I still love the figure.

The only differences I can see are to his hips in "brute mode".

Seeing as how I got mine for a total $65 Australian, and he'll sell for at least $55 Australian, I'm happy I paid an extra $10 to have him 6 months early and (with what I think is) a ever so slightly better paint job.

I realized that what spoils the alt mode most, giving him the "doggy style" feeling is not the feet themselves, but the arms.

Yeah, yeah, we know that actually the legs are folded forwards, not backwards, and hence he's not technically kneeling; but the shape of the figure gives that feeling.

Look at it, and you'll realize. The feet might help to add such an effect, but it's mainly the way the arms are positioned.

If the torso was horizontal and the arm were straight, he would've looked much better.

... And no "metro" doesn't mean "city". It can mean mother / measure. "polis" means city. "metropolis" is a mother city, this is the capital, or the biggest city within a certain area of a country.

ok here are my 2 cents on the subject of metro.

that is obvously just the package art work, hasbro isnt known for going over board when it comes to paint app on cybertron toys.  His alt mode *shrugs* whatever I'm going to screw around with his transformation till I can figure out a good base mode for him, and possabley repaint it to match.  I wasnt to happy with the idea of metro at first becuse I though hasbro was going lump him in to the 50 dollar price point.  I'm glad he's the leader class price point(40) otherwise i would feel like i did when i bought super StarScream which was...well put simpley less then impressed.    I dont really feel like buying another $50 tf right now eather (save for primus of course)

Massively touched up pictures, I doubt that the plactic will be as 'silver' as opposed to grey as well.

When are we gonna see pics of other Giant planet guys? :tfhuh

I'm definitly getting him. Just to have him stepping on Megs...
