can somone post pics of Primal's Beast mode??

I kinda like Meg's beast mode and bot mode.  I wish i could see what that tail does (other than sit off to the side)

They are deluxes - i am definitely buying them!

Missed this earlier but by that pic it kind of looks like Primals bulky arms form his legs while his smaller back ones are the arms. If so that's a first time transformation if anything.

head asplode!

Looking at Primal and Megs I suddenly get a flashback to E Grimlock and Swoop. Highly anticipated by fans and in the end such a letdown. In both cases because the figures don’t really resemble the original version (even though they’re clearly meant as a homage for the fans who remember them) but are highly stylized version instead. Grimlock and Swoop turned out to be rather unfinished designs and I wouldn’t be surprised if these turned out the same.

 

Primal…well, I hate to say this but from the look of these pics I actually prefer his beastmode over the robot. The robot mode has completely lost that compact and powerful look that I immediately liked ten years ago and which then put me under great pressure because I had sworn not to buy TF’s anymore. If I wasn’t into TF now, then this mold would definitely not change this. With the exception of the face and some of the colors, there really isn’t much to remind me of the original Primal. Sure there are some small parts, but not enough. The beastmode is kind of alright and interesting in it’s own ways. However, it doesn’t really say ape to me. If I didn’t know this was Primal (and thus an ape), I would think it was some kind of fantasy creature. The robot legs make ridiculous ape arms.

 

These new pics of Megatron have completely altered my opinion of him. Based on the first leaked OTC Magazine pics, I felt Megatron had a mean and menacing look to him. Not so anymore. He looks silly to me now. Maybe if all that purple would’ve been steel gray…just maybe (I’m just not too fond of this shade of bright purple). The head sculpt is better than the original, but not that great. The beast mode looks a bit like it has an organic core encased in mechanical parts (well, at least if you look at it in a certain way). I don’t like the amount of bulk at the base of the tail. It makes it look to big and too heavy as if this is one dino that really would need some support to keep his tail from dragging over the ground when he walks.

 

 

No. All in all two very disappointing molds. Which leads me to one question. The people who went to the 2005 Botcon/OTC came back with stories about these new molds, saying they were amazing. (There was even a comment about soiling ourselves when we would see this for ourselves…well, I did almost crap my paints from horror :P) Are these final result very different from what you saw at Botcon or do you simply have a very different taste?

 

 

EDIT: I'm glad I ordered the Takara set because that looks so much better to me than this.
