I've been there once when I was in SF, and you're right, they ARE good, and I would be pissed too if they are out of business.

a friend just stopped by today and he said they were closed again.... let's hope it's just because it's Superbowl weekend.

If they were faster and nicer with thier service I bet they'd tripple thier business....

Dude, look at where they are located Divisadero hardly the pinnacle of customer service and tourism in SF. They probably closed down b/c they're remodeling which they'd put a sign up, due to their lease and/or insufficient sales.  :tflaugh

Wait, so you've seen a sign? because I didn't see anything but a "closed" sign yesterday.

About Divis being non-customer-service-land, gimme a break: I had a job in the Warf for a while and I can wholeheartedly tell you that the customer service at the shops there was ASS! All of the employees around there hated babysitting 45 y/o tourists all day. Cafe Abir is always a friendly place, Herbavore likewise. Roland Feller is great, that cheesesteak place has some great employees, that record shop has never given me any problems... I mean, it's not the neighborhood, it's the resturant itself. Though I have to give it props for being one of the last bastions of the old Divis before the mid-90's gentrification of the area.

So yeah-- you saw a sign or something?

Oh man, please don't tell me that place closed for good. Its one of the best BBQ places I have ever been to. The ribs are to die for.

Divisadaro is kinda scroungy, but its not that bad. Try some of the bad neighborhoods in DC, LA or NYC. Gimmie a break. :D

I forgot to check when I was in the neighborhood on SA.

As for customer service when I go in the neighborhood, it is shopkeepers glare, glare ... silence, I preuse, ask a question, typical answer, "if it ain't out we ain't go it", and buy something and not a word of thanks. Hence the poor customer service. As for the Wharf, I don't think anyone would blame them if all the dealt with were tourists. But come on, treating even locals poorly is bad IMO, b/c you know darn well tourists do NOT go to Divi.

And guys when I mean it is a bad neighborhood it is b/c there people there who'd gladly take your wallet loitering on the street especially at night. You guys do know that area is filled with the projects, right? And even if you don't on the other side of Kaiser's main campus is another set of projects. Also, from Divisadero all the way up to Webster THAT area is known for shootings (guy got shot infront of Popyeyes chicken awhile ago), muggings, and car jacking. I am positive other places ARE worse, but lets just say I doubt any of us want our mothers or loved ones walking around there.

Back on topic, someone give me the full name of the place again and the addy and I can check this week.
