i downloaded the BW2 Movie and started to watch it.

 

I made it 5min in before my heart started to hurt.

 

and turned it off.

That was their first -- and thus far -- last fan dub... Neither of the producers are happy with it. One of them wondered if it was a good thing we put it online.

 

There are some good actors in there, though, Kid and Lio Convoy in particular.

lol sorry I'm not planning on an Australian accent unless I"m asked, which would be pretty difficult considering the only accents I can do are Asian, Russian, and Irish and surfer-ish.

 

I can however do nearly perfect impressions of Waspinator, Cheetor, Turantulus, Inferno and Rat Trap.

 

I think I was doing a semi Cheetor with my normal like voice when I did my Kid audition......I can't honestly remember though.

You are not doing an accent. It'd be an idea if he wasn't such a pivotal character. Only one person who auditioned did one.

just to point out that tho i did not like Bigconvoy the others felt were right and thier BW2 movie was fine aswell lio was gr8 lio junior was just bugging me but thats down to the "wheelie factor" when i young/kid TF always has to prove himself and seems to f**k up alot

If you hate my Big Convoy voice or not, you gotta admit, no offense to Mike personally, but Lio Junior is much worse. I felt he did a lot better as Majinzarak, surprisingly.

Anyone who put some effort in should be commended. We're not all profession voice actors so doing this stuff is hard. I actually liked their version of Robot Masters the dub wasn't too bad. Only the voice of Optimus Primal wasn't my fav...but you know it's hard to find people who sound the same as the original voice actors.

What can I say? I try and I try. My theory is if I do the rest of my jobs properly, anyone who doesn't like the voice will stop caring about that and enjoy the rest, which I assume you do.

 

He is not supposed to sound exactly like Optimus Prime, as he is a younger, hardened soldier who is just getting in touch with his more personable side.

 

When I first read this a few days ago, I got pretty mad, but I've heard it good things and bad about the voice, and generally have learned to accept both.

I said realistic Australian accent, damnit! You know... like... actually, Obisidian's accent is the closest, but his accent is technically Cockney. Damnit.

Watch lots of Hugh Jackman (X-Men, Kate & Leopold etc) for inspiration.

 

If you do a wanker-Australian accent like Steve Irwin's , I will personally shoot you. :P Never... ever say "crikey."

 

Words you can commonly use are:

"Struth!" (exclamation of surprise, shock - similar to "bloody hell")

Use the adjective "bloody" a lot, even in positive contexts, e.g. "that's bloody brilliant!"

"Bugger!" - use as a synonym for the F-word. e.g. "Bugger that for a joke," "I'm buggered," "bugger off, mate"

And whenever you're calling out to someone, use "Oy!"

 

And just to give a little taste of Tasmania to your character, add these:

1 - pama

2 - paya

3 - luwa

4 - wulya

5 - mara

6 - nana

7 - tura

8 - pula

9 - tali

 

Add the suffix "-ki" to make multiples of a hundred, e.g.: "Predacon base sighted pula-ki clicks north" or something like that.

 

These words come from the Palawa Kani language from Tasmania, which is currently being painstakingly reconstructed, since the indigenous people of Tasmania have long been hunted into extinction (a travesty which outraged the world so much that it inspired H.G. Wells' War of the Worlds - the martian invasion and mindless annihilation of humanity serving as a metaphor for what whites were doing to Tasmanians at the time -- truly one of the saddest chapters in Australian history).

I also think people are to hard on the BW2 Movie. It was their first go for crying out loud, were you expecting an oscar winner, and some of the voice actors are doing brillantly now in the Victory and BW Neo dub

I actually like some of the stuff that Mike and Rory did... I felt Mike wrote an okay script, although I think he put "Predaslag" in too many times, which I told him before he produced it... I liked how Rory retained the original credits... His effects leave much to be desired, but I was awful at it too before I got into it.

 

Rory currently enjoys an award-winning career as a movie short filmmaker.
