Bainreese Alt Prime Gallery. Finally!

Recommended Posts

Another feature that kind of disappoints me about the mold is that if you look at him from the side, he looks pretty much like a truck sitting on his gate. You would think they could have been a bit more creative and designed a way to tuck the doors out of the way and bend the sides of his bed in on the legs.

I concur.  It seems like he would look much better (and be a smidgen taller) if his feet were on extendable posts and had heel pieces that unfolded from underneath the toe (ala Prowl).

(I'm also hoping that the prototype's crotch plate is missing a paint application. :redface  )

Bainreese, do you see this from the back of your Prime? Just wondering if that piece which flips down is supposed to come sit further back in...

If not, it could just be the angle which this pic was taken.

Which piece are you talking about?  As for comparing mine to the picture you just linked to...mine looks exactly the same as that one from the back.  The only difference is that the angle of that camera shot is taken from more above and I usually do most of my shots at bot level.

Thank goodness. I hate when people do the overhead thing.

You have to click on my pic and then zoom in with the magnifying glass, I circled it with a yellow circle. From the back, it looks there is a corner from that gray piece that folds down to form the sides of the chest (in this case the right chest side). It looks like it is up right underneath the glove compartment of the dash board. I could not see it in your backside pic.

Again, it could just be the difference in angles.

in comparsion to yours, the corner is not there but instead you see the concave part...

As of now, I'm not a big fan of this one, but I'm sure it'll be fodder for some great kitbashes.

Big thanks to Bainreese for the gallery, and putting fanboys' claims of "mistranformation" to rest.

It jus happnes to not be a great toy, guys.

Don't worry. There'll be others  :)

I agree, but what does it say about the line when the cornerstone figure, Prime, is a POS? Nothing good I would think.

But at least we can look forward to Mirage.

It says that Hasbro know fanboys will rush out and buy anything Prime or Alt, so much so that they're not even pretending to put in effort anymore.

It also means that if they are selling it at the same pricepoint - then if the size is larger and the price is the same - then something has to give.

I vote - engineering!

Essentially he is a Super Gobot - i would have paid the extra $5 bucks for a little better design - but if the priority was keeping it reasonably priced - then perhaps Hasbro's hands were tied a bit.

What annoys me most is that this supposedly was prime ONY cause Takara insisted - yet they arent even producing it now.... so we are stuk with Prime and the reason for that is no longer valid....

sigh.
