I personally think that, when it comes down to continuity, the original version comes first.

 

So to me: G1, BW, BM, I follow the US storyline.  However, I believe that Car Robots, Micron Densetsu, SuperLink and Galaxy Force have the proper stories, though, and not RiD/Armada/Energon/Cybertron.  I realize that some of the Japan-only BWII and BWneo will probably contradict the US-BW, but I think the "starting" series has the priority in terms of storyline accuracy for contradicting facts/events.

I am just so bummed b/c now it is official that Mirage will not be coming out in BT anytime soon (as Takara has offically said that Ginrai won't be in BT and there are no others planned). I guess I will have to settle for the Alt version. Either way, that is one kickass figure and if I have to get plastic, at least it is a cool one.

No, it's from Furman's "Transformers. The Ultimate Guide". For two BW characters, Primal and Megatron, the pre-BW altmodes are given: Primal a monster Truck and Megsy a Mobile Battle platform. Considering what Megatron apparently looked like before he came to prehistoric Earth, I have no idea how that should be able to transform into said battle platform.
