for me after seeing the star wars transformers; my two fav's being obi-wan and maul, I can see that it is possible for has-tak to engineer a transformer to be fully in disguise and have a pilot figure. The Pilot can man the bot in both alt and bot mode. This is very do-able. So, I'm thinking it would be nice that the next line of transformers have a new gimic........mini 4-6 point possible figures that are either humans or the bots ''spark'' which takes on a human form to basicly be able to travel truly in diguise in small places.

 

Also, no bot will have less than 20 points of articulation, not including articulatiion points as a result of kibble being used as axtras for the bot for example; wings weapons ect...

 

the altmode will be a complete disguise of the bot, no bot parts will be exposed.

 

flight based alt modes will have a 3rd interm mode being a minor walker of some sort ala macross fighter jets....only because this Idea of a gearwal mode was for the realistic expectation of the bot i mid battle or flight needs to beable to defend it'self in the middle of transfrmation and avoid being caught off guard.

 

Ah well that's it for now.

If I were in charge I'd either bring back Transtech and if that was an imposibility I'd comission Gonzo to do a follow up to Cyberon/Galaxy Force. Characters and toys would stay the same but new characters/concepts/homages would be introduced in another 52 ep run. :mwahaha

 

On the Alt side I'd fire whoever it is who is who has the job of greenlighting alt repants. Riccochet, and Rollbar would be scrapped and the new alt Prime would undergo a head sculpt change thus being Ironhide. For the sake of Madhammer the repaint would be Trailbreaker.

 

I'd also issue a Masterpiece Armada Prime with trailer, and fully articulated multi coloured limbs with dicast construction.

 

Uh, okay definitely not that last one. I'd be hated more than Archer, and Lee combined. :redface

well if i could be top dog for a day idd give good old optimus prime a rest not kill him off but do they next show as a side story with new heros and villans kids are not going to care if thiers no new megs screamer or prime for 8 months if need be they could carry over the last design in new colours

 

also idd do a side line of BT/alt sized and standard toys they would be like mini Master peaces of characters from all over TF history from chrome dome to dinobot, god ginrai to grim lock

It's ironic that the Optimus Prime fanatics may be Optimus Prime's undoing. Too many appearances/toys of it may take Optimus Prime down the road of the Punisher back in the early 1990s. Punisher's popularity gave him appearnces in Avengers, X-Men, Archies, and Sally Jesse Raphael - in short, he was oversaturated in the market.

 

Don't get me wrong, I think Optimus Prime sucks, but it would suck more to see any character becoming disposeable for any reason.

Lesira isn't based off Prime, her alt mode is but only because of the uses of her skills, she's actually based off G1 Preceptor and Rachet.  A medic and a scientest who loves her work so much, that her alt mode is large enough to give her all that she needs at any time.  None of you even said what TF line or general TF you would want if you had a say in the matter.

I see where you are going with this, Tony, but truth to be told, if Transformers isn't going to take notes from what happened in the early 90s, I'm afraid it'll die out eventually under its own hypes and gimmicks. For example, G1 died out because of the lack of innovations. Note that I didn't say in gimmicks - I said innovation. The last 3 years of G1 TF were nothing but gimmicks, but if you look at the engineering of the toys, they're all the same (just look at the Pretenders and the Micromasters. Technically, those entire lines are remolds.) When G2 came in, it was already too late (G2 was gimmick laden, too.) Beast Wars was a breath of fresh air when realistic animal molds and intricate transformation schema resurrected the Transformers franchise.

 

The whole Optimus Prime (or Megatron, for that matter) presence in every line so far since RID - any line in the future should exclude these two. My not liking Optimus Prime aside, I sincerely think this figure/character is overused to death. How many Optimus Primes do we need? Same goes with Megatron, just to a lesser extent. We need new leaders to keep the toyline fresh. Look at the Japanese continuity. They had 7 Autobot leaders in their run of G1. NorAm had 3. The fact that Optimus Prime is made "dictator for life" by his fanatics is, IMHO, what will kill TF again.

 

Transformers should be Robots In Disguise, not Robots In Camofluage. Alt modes should be inconspicuous, not obvious. Case in point - Which character has a more convincing alt mode - Mach alert/Prowl from RID or Prowl from Energon? I think Energon Prowl would had been a far superior toy if the link-up gimmick was do away with.
