a break would be nice, give me a little time to catch up with everything.

I hear ya. On the other hand, the more bots the merrier. But as long as all signs point towards healthy as far as the overall Transformers future goes, I'm going to be happy.

Some notes:

Yes, Takara's taking a "break".

The "G1 Redux" line is what Aaron Archer had planned/proposed, it's not official or known that Hasbro will actually make it.

Japanese toy lines/shows haven't really been "ahead" and then later changed for US. Armada, Energon, and Cybertron were all developed jointly. GF's toys and shows were released ahead of Cybertron because of differing schedules. Hasbro's been running TF lines for 1.5 years whereas Takara runs them for 1 year each. Armada actually pre-dated Micron Legend by ~6 months. Then Energon & Superlink started at the same time, but Energon lasted ~6 months longer so Cybertron started after GF.

The toys are mostly "designed" in America and "engineered" in Japan, not purely "Japanese made".

Cybertron would have been out in April but Hasbro put it on hold for SW:ROTS merchandise. Nothing like competing against yourself.

I am going to guess that G1 Redux or whatever, is going to be a Hasbro only deal, similar to Beast Machines.

I was refering to the business approach, rather than the story/characters.

No he did not appear. Not even in flashbacks as far as I know. The closest thing to Unicron was Master Megatron/Galvatron. Whether Hasbro made any changes to the script so that it mentioned Unicron in Cybertron, i couldn't tell you.

What is this, you guys got everything from GF/Cybertron already?  Must've been one hell of an import bill.

Finally.. the american market gets to step up to the plate again. I have to be honest, I'm a tad tired of anime-formers.

anyone have any links to the G1 Redux starscream i have heard mentioned, but have not found?
