not the toy. im not crazy.

the concept of the character. the fact that they made a polar opposite of unicron to counter him just angers me. thats what the matrix used to be for. i grew up with unicron. i have certain... loyalties for lack of a better word. besides, wasnt the creation of all transformers and the matrix supposed to be the thing that stood in unicron way and/or stop him? whats the point of all them if there will just be another giant to stop him?

im also a lil sore bc now that primus is out, everyones opinion of the unicron toy has dropped immensly.

Eh. I like the idea of Primus and Unicron as gods representing good and evil. I feel that Primus's good was necessary to balance out Unicron's evil.

Yeah, I always thought Unicron put all of his strength into reformating his physical body to be an approximation of his astral one, whereas Primus put all of his energy into creating the Transformers and the matrix, so that they might one day be able to destroy him (something Primus couldn't do himself).

That said, GF Primus is an entirely different being, and he kicks untold amounts of arse.

If I thought about it, I wouldn't like him either.  But I've never watched/read any medium where Primus was an actual character.  I'ven't seen any Cybertron or GF.  I'm just going to buy the toy so I have something to display with Unicron, and becuase it looks to be pretty freakin sweet.

You should just read the old comics where Primus was there. Hmm, on second thought, don't. :P

I'm sick to death of yin-yang good and evil balances. Not everything has to be completely equal.

I realize the irony in what I'm about to say, but that's one of the things I liked about Beast Machines; the good guys were the underdogs for thr first time since.... ever?

I just think they completely dropped the ball with Unicron post-TF:TM. They could have spent the third season on this big mystery like "where did Unicron come from" and "how did the Matrix kill him" and all that.... it could have been awesome. But all we got was a ghey space monkey. :grr

But all things considered, I have to say that I like Furman's explanation as much as anyone else's. At least it's coherent.

I just wish the show had an on going continuity that didn't contridict itself. I like watching the show but I hated that there was never any established personalities. Every episode was a wild card. You never knew how a character would react form show to show.

Any hoo, Primus. I like the toy. I dont think it's fair that this "Good guy" toy Looks far more menacing than Unicron has ever looked. When I really think about it I guess I have to go with the first post. It seems Weird, an inhabited planet that becomes a robot. If Primus was a big dumb bot like A+E Uni or didn't have a mind at all, then maybe it wouldn't seem so weird.

You know, I tend to think of Unicron and Primus as amoral, but if I were to assign who is "good" and who is "evil", I would say Unicron is good and Primus is evil. Unicron tries to bring order to the universe via the destruction of all things capable of warfare (i.e. life) while Primus sits there and do nothing while the Cybertronians waged war for millions of years.
