New Alternator pictures

Recommended Posts

I'm liking prime though. I hope someone gets a proto of him soon so we can see his correct transformation. These mistransformed pics are killing me.

That's what I was thinking. I mean, would it hurt to transform him properly at least once?

Actually, they remind me of the G2 Spychanger version of Prime.  I guess that's why I don't think of it as much of a change and welcome it with open arms. :clap

Yeah, I have G2 Laser Prime, and I love the mold to death. But his shoulders were molded to look like cool missile launchers, they weren't just ugly bulky protrusions sticking out.  Hopefully they aren't transformed properly :tdown

here's my take

1. the picture maybe taken from an angle. his shoulder are way bigger than the first picture showed us.

2. this alt should be the biggest of them all and yet he is shorter than the other two.

3. i'm sure he has a mid section, its just we cant see it because of the angle the picture was taken.

4. i'm not sure but it seems he is either bending his left leg at the knees. or his torse is at and angle and his leg is just in the background. (hopefulyy he has and is bending his knees)

5. the doors on the side look better, but i still don't like the way his shoulders look.

over all a better picture than the first, but we still need to see more. hasbro needs to do something about this. we buy there murchandise, we wait forever for these things to be announced and even longer for them to hit the shelves, they keep us in the dark with new projects. i think at the very least, they should be showing us good, clear and properly transformed pics

here's my take

Uh....Just like Rollbar's pic is mirrored....Prime's pic could easily not be actual size compared to the others. I doubt they were all filmed at once. That's like Meeting A celebrity in person and saying, "Man your huge! On TV your only 12 inches tall Max!"

Master Maximus,

This is the 4th Impreza release if you count Red alert...... why in the world would you count Red alert when we're talking about Hasbro's Alternator Releases? Why not count the 2nd year version of Smokescreen then too?

Lord Madhammer,

I really want Trailbreaker too, and I'd prefer him in the Ram body, but unfortunately I really don't foresee them making him anytime soon due to the name issues.

And Cyclone X,

Using the name Trailbreaker IS an issue. They could not do "Autobot Trailbreaker", the "Trailbreaker" name is  unavailable, sticking "Autobot" in front doesn't change that. The names like "Autobot Hound" are around not because the name "Hound" was unavailable but because "Hound" was too general to trademark, but they could trademark "Autobot Hound".

For the Shockblast example, they could make up a new name, but what? Trailblazer?--not when we're talking about  licensing real cars and there is the Chevy Trailblazer. Roadbreaker? Is that even close enough to Trailbreaker to be worth it? Would "-breaker" anything even be acceptable to car companies that have in the past balked at "Breakdown" thus Hasbro getting the trademark to "Brakedown" instead?

godsenddeath,

Hasbro doesn't love making things difficult for itself with assortments, it's at the behest/needs of US retailers who can't deal with ordering individual figures that Hasbro must make assortments. The old rumors of Wal-mart wanting single-figure assortments was always JUST A RUMOR, and nothing more has been heard about it since it first got "reported" in September(?), so I think it's safe to assume right now there was little truth to that.

It is a bit disappointing they don't have any remolded parts, but it is good to finally get an orange Alternator. Ricochet repainted as Jazz would have been better as well, but Hasbro wasn't thinking "What mold should we use for a Ricochet" alternator?" They were thinking "Besides a rescue vehicle, what new deco could we put on the Subaru?"

While the pics may not be in scale to each other, at Botcon Aaron Archer said the Ram mold was the biggest Alternator yet, bigger than the Mustang.

i'm afraid if any of these getting released in the uk . we get 1 new alt every 6 months and to have more repaints or that joke of a prime would make me cry.

i want skids, prowl and mirage, tracks or even decepticharge.

why don't hasbro realise that everybody already has these molds and have already shelf warmed.

flapping tards :grr :(

I'll buy all of these.  Sure, Ricochet is a third subaru, but so what? A subaru hasn't been released in the US for more than a year.  Rollbar is a repaint, but he's the only orange one availble, so he's going to stand out in my collection, and probably most others as well.  And I bet most of the people complaining about Prime now don't just buy him in Feburary, they hunt for him.  The only new mold that hasn't been poorly received when we got our first pictures was Mirage, but I bet we hear plenty of complaints when they release painted pictures and he's got lame decals.

Its nothing to do with pandering to the needs of US retailers, its simple marketing as research shows they shift more stock (and left over stock) by throwing them all in together. Its purely about maximising returns based on their own sales assumptions.

There are parts of both.

From what we've had so far I'd imagine Ricochet and Rollbar, maybe Skids or Sunstreaker to make up numbers.

I think the other will depend on what the Alt version is called.

If Ginrai like the BT, I doubt it, if Optimus, probably.

Ok, well, R&D costs are nice and all, but is it really that expensive to make a new head?  Or even pop a different existing one on?  Was Swerve a failed experiment?  Does that explain his short production run?

Picking up Prime is a given for me despite the obvious Trailbreaker intent, but R&R... I'd need to at the very least find a different head to pop on.  Something, ANYthing, to differentiate them from Swindle and Streak.

As far as I'm concerned, in a line aimed at collectors, this is just lazy.
