BT 16 and BTA 3 Review

Recommended Posts

BTA 03 Broadblast: 7.5/10 I really wasn't feeling the homage from this one, but I did like the paintjob nevertheless and the quality seemed vastly improved from the other BTAs.

Great to hear BTA3 doesn't have any of the QC problems of the other BT released lately.

I agree with you (any probably every TF fan out there) that this is a very weak Blaster hommage. Why didn't they just call this Crosscut? Makes a lot more sense. I know for me, it's Crosscut and not Blaster.

I was going to get this figure regardless of how crappy the bot mode. The Toyota Scion xB is my favorite vehicle.

If you enjoy the Scion then you will probably really enjoy this BT/Alt.

Rawhide: He's Crosscut for me too :thumb

I actually like BTA3 as Blaster - the head is close enough, and I like the carbon grey it's a new color that almost makes him stand out even more than if he were more yellow and red.

Also, I have no idea who Crosscut even is.  :inhrf

The grey IS a cool shade, I agree...and the head mold IS pretty good....but theres something missing. Maybe I just don't feel it's quite big enough to do Blaster justice. And Crosscut was the silver replaint of G1 Skids.

I figure I'll swap a spare grimlock head over and see if I can make a larger version for Blaster.

I agree w/ everything in the review. I really rather like the figure as a whole, and it does have a very cool and difficult transformation (more inventive than Grimlock IMO). Both modes look great and convincing as both a vehicle and a well made bot. I did also put on the G1 stickers and I really like the alt mode better b/c of it.

I ordered BTA Broadblast (Blaster) b/c:

1) I like this mold (although I hate the bB vehicle), and

2) I am a completist w/ the BTs and BTAs, but honestly I don't mind buying another version of this mold. I just wish I had waited a couple of days b/c I ended up finding Broadblast cheaper from another seller on ebay that is in the US vs. $5 more expensive from a Hong Kong seller (but both are way cheaper than BBTS at least). Oh well, I can be somewhat patient.

A very nice and succinct review and I do recommend this mold if you can afford it.
