It just dawned on me today why was Starscream chosen to be made as a supreme size, but Prime and Megatron weren't?

 

Don't get me wrong, I think he's pretty sweet, and when I can find him on sale for about $30, I'll snatch him up...I was just wondering why the 2 uber powerful characters are smaller.

 

Also, do we have any idea what other characters may be released as Supremes?

I guess it has to do with the story. Like how Hasbro's Energon version of Megs was bigger than the Takara version. In Energon Megs became big, as in Cybertron, SS became big as well. It's kind of like a spoiler.... at least we didn't get a Supreme Thundercracker..... (expects it on the shelf if Hasbro is listening).

It was probably a story concept even before Gonzo made the show. That for once, Starscream would actually fulfill his ambitions and gain some power.

 

It actually makes it more interesting to have him grow big, rather than Optimus or Megatron. The presence of a uber powerful third party is a lot more interesting than Megatron just growing big again. And a hell of a lot better than Omega Prime fighting Unicron :redface

Probably because Starscream sells a lot of toys would be my guess.

My guess is that they hoped the toy would cash in on Starscream's popularity and that, with it's size, G1 crown and passing resemblance to War Within Starscream , it may have had appeal to fans that didn't ususally buy toys from the new shows.

Kind of like Armada or Energon Unicron's appeal.

Who the hell is more deserving! Throw in the crown, electronics(snatch out the mega version's) and put in 2 planet keys and boom. Cha-Ching!!

I've always liked Starscream....cool name, extremely entertaining personality, great one liners in the show (I've only seen him from G1), just an all around great character, and Supreme Starscream was the first Cybertron figure I saw (he was plastered all over the place up here in central New Hampshire....every retail store had at least 10 of them...most still do....) so I definately want him, and I didn't mean to imply I thought it was wrong to have him a Supreme Class, and I whole heartedly agree having a big ass third party to add some fun into the mix is great for the story.

Trust me, Watch TF Cybertron. Starscream's coolness is amplified 10 times. His one liners are top notch. Bless the new translators :luv

I think it is about time starscream got a kick ass huge toy. He is arguably one of, if not the most popular characters in the TF universe...probably a close 2nd to prime if not more. This starscream toy is IMO one of, if not the best starscream toys...even the small one. I think its time that Starscream become decepticon top honcho and Axe Old Megatron(even though he is my namesake lol)

Hasbro is to afraid to rock the boat. Get some good writers and Starscream would be totally beleivable.
