well this is a strange discussion.

Personally i have no religon, but do believe in freedom of choice. I also believe that many of the lessons Jesus tried to preach were correct. Hurry for him. :thumb

However i believe that all religons are works of man. This is not an insult but mearly my oppinion and is as unsupported as any argument partaning to religon.

I believe religons evolve as we do. Is it really a coinsidence that most religons before Cristianity were brutal and designed around sacrificing people or doing dark deeds to appese the gods? I personally don't think so.

Our idea of god changes as we do, if you want a recent example the church one fround upon female ministers/priests why? because it was said that women were worth less than men. But now that someone has said that Women should have equal rights (which i agree with) they have no choice but to stop being distainful toward them.

The Cristian idea of what god is an example of how our ideas can change, while many religons of the age supported barberism Christianity tried to avicate forgiveness and getting along. If the world's people christian or not, subscribed to those ideals e.g. 'being a good samaraten for no reward but to help a fellow man, the world who be a happier place.

As far as lion, witch and the wardrobe, i think Aslans resurrection was more due to the fact that the white witche was going to break her word. e.g. my life for the boy's, but she was gonna break that and kill the boy anyway, the powers that be knew and said 'hey time for some payback!, so she broke the law of Narnia 'do not backstab b****!'

Two questions. First have you ever read the Bible? Second have you ever seen the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe movie or the book? Asland told the girls why he was ressurected right when it happened. Also when Asland defeated the Witch he said just as Jesus did when he defeated the eternal death that people who don`t accept him get. "It is finished." Please do some research into this.

i have read some of the bible,but not it entirely. why?

As for the question of wether or not a show can have a religious message without God/ gods or deities you need to go watch the Cronicles of Narnia the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. I`ll give you the short form really quik a young girl finds a magic land in the back of a wardrobe, the second time she goes there one of her brothers follows her and he meets the witch she tricks him into trusting her and he ends up betraying many people to her. Acording to the law of Narnia all traitors are to be turned over to her but Asland the true king of Narnia offers himself in the boy`s place. The witch of course accepts and kills Asland. However she didn`t really understand what the law was all about and when she killed Asland on the stone table in the boy`s place she fullfilled the proffecy that brought about her own defeat as Asland rose back to life and the stone table cracked in two. Tell me there is no biblical link there if you think you can. Then go see the movie and think about it.

There's a lot of Christology in "The Matrix" trilogy as well. Don't tell me Hollywood is actually embracing Christ....

Huh, that doesn't make sense either- christology, or do you mean christ like themes? or Theology?

Yeah never heard of the word christology before either. But the Cronicles of Narnia were writen by a Christian man who was trying to convey the Christian faith in such a way that even children could understand it better. And that they would be more suseptable to than an old time preaching ceremony. Hmm what was one of the biggest movies last year oh yeah the passion of the Christ. So I think that people are looking for a deeper meaning to life and yes you will ussually find that in religion. Granted not all religions teach the proper things but I do know of two that have been around for a very long time that most of the world find help hope and happiness in. Those are the Jewish faith and Christianity which comes from the Jewish faith.

I've been a non practicing Southern Baptist for a long time, an I never heard of such a made up word as that.. an what exactly does this Book/movie have to do with transformers...- Nothing!

Not to mention, this thread is getting way off topic here! GF was a Japanese cartoon, the only spiritual theme to this is self esteem... nothing else.

Christology is a term that refers to theology pertaining to Jesus Christ (seriously, people, look it up.)  I'm surprised that a lot of "Christians" never heard of it - unless you think Christ was made-up too.

Asland, in this case, would supposedly exemplify Christ. The idea of a saviour that comes to the rescue is an extention of a Christlike act, that is, a person who offers hope where there is none.

Ok looked it up real word just never heard it before. I suppose it`s because most preachers prefer to teach the word rather than the words out there that humanity has added to the religion. Or in other words it isn`t a word from the Bible and most preachers preach from the Bible. There those who don`t however which is why you should always read the text that your preacher is reading from. if it doesn`t sound like the same meaning then there may be a problem there.

As for BGC`s comment about what does the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe have to do with TFs. You`re right nothing but I was using it as a point of refference to show that something can be religiously based and yet still very entertaining. In fact I suggest that everyone go see it. Incredible movie, fantastic speacial effects, and story.

Religion, n

1: a strong belief in a supernatural power or powers that control human destiny;

2: institution to express belief in a divine power;

Buddhism is an atheistic religion.

Haven't read the last page, but I'd argue that it's Agnostic, as it plugs in pretty well with other religions without getting all uppity about it.

I feel sorry for the japanese.....are all theyre shows written so poorly?

Like its gotta be the same story OVER and OVER with moronic lines and names for the characters (i.e good vs evil= good over evil)

like every single show....i bet their tv sitcoms involve giant robots in some way.....:):):)

Buddhism is more a philosophy than a religion. BTW, those definitions can include ideology as well. There were a lot of religious connotation in Environmentalism and Socialism (i.e. "mother earth" and "socialist energies").

Freedom cannot exist with rules? I think that's 100% inaccurate because if there is 100% freedom, I have 100% freedom to kill you 100%, but then, you'll be 100% dead, and 0% chance of exercising your 100% freedom. So if you put a rule saying "no killing," it isn't 100% freedom anymore.

And don't be fooled by the New Age religion schtick they are trying to slip into the kids cartoons. They are preaching, pure and simple.

OK Freedom cannot exist with rules is a point of view problem. Most people see accept rules (although they will break them) as being created or put into place by someone with higher authority over them, which puts people into a controlled environment. However Freedom exists with or without rules, although most people would say that if rules are in place, they are not free to do what they wish (if it is against the rules.) Since no one person can control anyone except themselves, rules are not explicitly "rules" but "guideline." So if there is a rule that says you cannot kill another person, but you can actually do this, it is not a rule. You can accept that as being a rule, and apply it to yourself, but you cannot force someone else to accept that rule.

And this process effects everything, not just laws of the State, or other areas, which includes such things as "Scientific Law" which cannot be a true law since science cannot exist without theories, and most "laws" are based on 1 sided observation or on values that are perceived as being constant, although there is no possible way to prove that.

But they are not preaching. Because they have subtle hints in there. Most people see it (as I did before I got the subtitled GF episodes) that they are not specifically stating this or that. I picked up on it because I have studied this type of thing for a long time now.

I think the word you are looking for may be "Catholicism" but you must also note that the story of Jesus was based on even more older writings than the Bible.

The only references to Catholicism I can see is the Merovingian (based on the Merovingians, a group of Catholic Heretics that claim to be of the Nazarene bloodline, in which case the Nazarene DOES NOT = Jesus) and Seraph, although his role and his name do not go hand in hand. By far the Matrix had more new age overtones than Christianity.

And why is it called "New" Age anyways? It is older than any other religion or way that is still in existance!

Isn't this a transformer website? Stop with the religion. I don't think anyone really cares about that old out-dated crap anymore. Religion is dying and less and less ppl seem to care about it. And just so I can get some shock in here, it was proven last year that there was no god when bush got voted in for a second term :tfpuke
