Cybertron figs I think are crap

Recommended Posts

Undermine......I keep looking at this guy at Wal-Mart and I just shake my head....he's got a decent bio, but seriously...what the hell is up with his appearance in both modes? I think he....well, quite frankly i think he sucks.  His design is just wierd....robot mode looks like crap... No desire for this figure at all.

Runamuck....what the hell? His car mode is cool...his robot mode he looks like a rejected Tonka mold from 85. I'd grudgingly take this figure if someone bought it for me, but would never buy it myself.

Longrack....the vehicle mode is ok....though it reminds me of the Go Bots series made by Hasbro for toddlers...his bot mode is....well...the digger arm is just WAYYYY to overbearing. The rest of his form and head should have been beefier to offset the crazy digger arm. I'd let someone buy this for me, but wouldnt get it myself.

Sideways...this guy just doesnt seem to fit in with the rest of the line...he looks more Power Rangers-esque to me than a Transformer. I could handle his robot body, but his head/face just doesnt say Transformer to me. If I got it as a gift I'd smile and thank them, and put him in the back row of my shelf.

Backstop....um....I know a lot of you fans are crazy into Beast Wars (I couldnt stand it personally) but this guy is just goofy looking (Rhino mode is moderately ok).....I mean the bot mode is...well, he looks like a Happy Meal toy. He looks like the Jar Jar of the Cybertron line...the Scooter of the Go Bots line...the Nuggit of the Rock Lords line. I hate him a lot. I'd take Undermine before this guy, and I hate Undermine.

Wreckloose...cool name, and that's about it. God this guy is only a micron above Backstop in goofiness factor. Beast mode is somewhat ok...but bot mode....looks like a highschool science experiment to breed the Predator and a Ninja Turtle together gone horribly wrong. I'll pass.

Crumplezone....i go back and forth on this one...don't care for his vehicle mode, and his bot mode looks more organic than mechanical. His head is wierd to me....I dunno....just something about him I dont much care for. Again, if someone got him for me, I'd smile and thank them, and put him in the back row.

Scourge...same with Crumplezone, but his animal mode is pretty badass. His bot mode though.....his club/axe thingy is just too much, and his head should have some sort of fins, or ridge on it...it doesnt go with the rest of his body. I'd take him as a gift and keep him in dragon mode.

Dark Scorponok (and all variations) I think this mold is pretty lame. I didnt much care for the G1 Scorponok, and I dont much care for this one either. Dont really have much else to say.

Dirtboss...I'm trying to like this guy...I really am...and I think if his color scheme were different I'd like him...the purple and green just doesnt do it for me. Plus those wheels....transluscent reddish purple? Ick. Black woulda been better. I'll probably get him if he goes on clearance, or I have no others left to get.

All the other figures I really like, and am working on getting them. Well, Blur is a little wimpy looking, but he captures more of the essence of a Transformer than some of these other guys I listed do.

Well, even if I don't like a figue, they often provide me with the parts I need for different projects I work on. And let's face it; not every transformer that graces the shelves is going to be a winner. There are some G1 figs that don't exactly appeal to me, yet I don't write the series off as bad.

Good sir even if I don't agree with what you say, I will fight too the death for your right to say it.

Backstop is the only figure in the line I consider absolute dreck. Bottom of the energon barrel dreck. :)

Sheesh.... arguably the best damn line in twenty years, and Has-Tak still can't seem to make everyone happy. :roll

I mean, the NERVE of them!  :wtf

Normally I don't like to feed the trolls...but what the hell...

first, a lot of the ones you mentioned were armada repaints...and Longrack is actually pretty cool if you know the Beast Wars figure he's emulating...Runamuck, Armada Sideswipe mold, need I say more? (though I'm *still* tempted...) Now Sideways, dude, he is from a totally cybertronian planet, so a total different look...but anyway...

Cybertron/Galaxy Force is probably one of the strongest new lines to come out. The basics are fantastic (see Ransack, Scattorshot, et all) Prime is incredible...nice BALANCED gimicks that don't get in the way (unlike that whole Powerlinking from Energon). Nice detaled figures, something for everyone. You don't have to be a completest ya know...but they should have some thing you should like...even one fig.

Eh, everyone has his own tastes, and even I hate a couple of the molds, not just from this line, but from others *coughcoughwheezehackHondaS2000crappycarmadeintocrappyrobotsthatwarmshelvescough

oughlosesalung*

But Cybertron's been the strongest toyline in a long time, with plenty of great new molds to it, so I'm happy.

i love cybertron so far the only one i hate is thundercracker...buts its mostly the whole caccon for an arm thing
