super articulated and highly detailed figures with some die cast parts.  It's not specifically a TF line, but TFs are a part of the line.

It was going to be the "HBS" series initially - the fact that they went with "THS" makes me question if now there will ever be any non-transformers in the line.

Of course this also begs the question whether or not there will be anymore THS/HBS/MP's anyway since Takara is taking a step back from the TF-Franchise....

 

FWIW - i fit into that catagory of not buying BIG tfs.  In fact i only managed to get E-Megatron just this week from the end cap because i found someone selling the small version!  Even though its almost twice as much as the biggie version being clearanced all round me...

What we need to do here is take that trailer, go find one of them counterfit/fake TF companies and have them make one MP sized!

My thoughts.

 

The bot mode looks really impressive, and for the most part fairly proportionate. I'm sorry but there is no Optimus Prime I have seen as misproportionate a Energon. WarMachine Prime is even several steps up from that and he has next to no articulation. The small size doesn't bothe me any and I really like the added trailer, and accessories but I don't see myself preordering him anytime soon. Budgetary restraints. The transformation looks good. The folding wheelwells are a nice inovation, but I find the oversized sleaves slightly odd as where he's not supposed to be wearing a jacket but looks as if he is. About the head transformation, it's not so much a new inovation but rarely used. Machinewars Prime sports the same head articulation.

 

Reguarding alt mode, I don't care what anybody says but MP Prime doesn't look half that muddled together. Strange yes, but more so in a Pat Lee esque way. My only suggestion to balance this ot some is to give him large/wider wheels as he has in the proto sketches, and have them actually line up properly with the wheel wells. Despite that minor complaint, very impressive for 4" high toy.

 

Also is it just me or does the proto sketch look a lot like a reinmagined Energon Prime? Especially without the trailer. Maybe this will be very similar to what we'll see in the rumoured G1 Redux line as either a deluxe or Mega. here's deperately hoping for it ayway.

if anyone is to complain about him beingfat or weird sized.... take a look at the original G1 prime.

THS: Transformer Hybrid Style

DW: Deam Wave (comic company that reimagined Transformers and then went bankrupt)

HR: not so sure - although our own goofy bastard HotRod is often referred to as HR.... and i sometimes am - but i dislike it.  Can you use it in a sentence?

HBS: Hybrid Style (original name of the THS toyline which now has 2 Transformer figures)
