NOT EVERYONE HAS THE SAME TOYS YOU DO

Recommended Posts

I only collect originals, and I say keep the reissues coming. It drops the price on the originals I don't have yet. I don't give a damn about how rare my Transformers are, I just want a complete collection.

:pfx

To me, a reissue is just another knock-off. An overpriced KO. I guess they are cool if you don't open stuff, but at least %60 of the reissues can be obtained as loose originals for only a couple of dollars more, or often even less than the reissue. Without Buzzsaw, you can get an orignal Soundwave for less than $25 with a little legwork.

I loved when the reissue Hot Rod's came out. TM Hot Rod used to be around $260. I got mine for $45.

Knock-off?! what in the hell? a knock-off is when a company illegally copies and uses a TF/some other kind of toy. they're oftentimes modified. Takara/Hasbro/Tomy's reissues are NOT knock-offs in the least!

That was actually exaggeration, but thank you anyway. I'm not mad at reissues in the least, I just don't buy them because if I'm going to by something made today, it sure as hell better have today's technology, particularly if they are as overpriced as they are (when not on clearance.) Reissues made a few of the older ones cheaper for me so I say bring on the reissues of the 30odd guys form G1 I don't have yet.

Where's my reissue Vroom Bob Saget!?!

i hate it when some fans say negative things about a tf reissue just because they already have a vintage version of the same toy. you're allowed to hate a reissue but don't get all bitchy because Takara is "wasting their time" by reissueing a toy you already have. NOT EVERYONE HAS CAN AFFORD A VINTAGE TF. and some people(like me) prefer their tf's to be brand new.

Let me guess; this is one of those threads where you are Starscreaming about "supply and demand" of a toy not being in your favor which some how is droping the market value of the toy you have and thought was as rare as oil, right?

First off if your G1 stock option is still in the box unopened then I'm pretty sure that, thats proof enough you have the original. What ever reissue comes out is never gonna compare .... EVER!

Second off , if the only way you can love your transformers hobby is if it some how retains monitary appreciation like say baseball cards, then honestly you are in the WRONG hobby........ go out and collect baseball cards! If you think by buying transformers that you are investing in some form of futures WAKE UP! THEY'RE JUST TOYS! If you want futures then save your money and invest in stocks/bonds/mutual funds and alike.

One buys transformers cos they like the toy and thats it! it's a fun little hobby nothing more.

I think everyone needs to pause for a moment and find their happy place.

I prefer vintage, loose, played with, sticker-goo-having, dusty, squeaky G1 toys. They're way cooler to me than reissues b/c they have tons more character IMO. I don't want a G1 toy that was produced this year. I want one that was produced in 1985 or whenever.

Having said that, I know that a bunch of people like minty G1 toys. Good for you. I'm just not captivated by them.

MH put his Sideswipe and PM Prime reissues in the clothes dryer O/N to make them look vintage...

You know what? My kids are playing with both of them right now. I don't know what it is, but actual vintage G1 TFs are way more interesting to me than reissues. I dunno why.

I AGREE 100%  Nothing wrong with a brand new Transformer.  Reissue or not.

YES ,YES, more reissues please :clap

Made a mistake when I bought the original Hot rod mib, then buying takara reissue hotrod and finally TRU hotrod.  I was like, "damn, why did I do that."

mos def

not picky about WHERE they came from or when made, If I want a fig and can get my hands on it I buy it, my only request is that they come from a collector or a dealer and not an attic

I have bought vintage, just wont sell a kidney for it, like I said, a bond is a better investment than an original g1 soundwave complete

(which I have)
