Do TFs keep up with the times?

Recommended Posts

Building off of this thread right here, do you think that as a whole, the G1 bots--if the continuity were still around AND NO NOT IN BEAST WARS KTHX--would've kept up with current trends? I mean, I know Jazz would but do you think that the others would've done the same? Like, would we see Smokescreen as a street racer Eclipse or someone sporting color-shift candy paint and spinners? Would there be more SUVs and trucks, maybe Bumblebee going hybrid?

Um.. Bineltech

I think there would be a nice medium of the TFs keeping up with the changing times, but also staying true to their roots.

Megatron became a tank after he realized what the humans were saying behind his back. "He becomes somebody ELSE'S pistol? How stupid is that?"

Optimus probably went for a tougher truck mode, like his G2 Laser incarnation.

Bumblebee remains a tiny little car, but sticks with something like a civic.

Ironhide, realizing what minivans are, became a truck, specifically a civilian Hummer.

Prowl is stuck as a Ford Crown Victoria.

Cosmos was killed. I mean, come on.

Wheelie became a moped. Definitely stickin' with his roots, there.

Hot Rod changed his name to "Goth Rod" and became a tricked out hearse.

Ultra Magnus eventually will dump his armor and opt for something a little more impressive, LIKE HIS OWN BODY INSTEAD OF PRIME'S.

The Seekers became stars on their own tv show, modeled after the Three Stooges.

Kup died. Seriously, Prime is MUCH older than 4 million years, and he doesn't act all old.

Grimlock eventually opted for a remolded body more scientifically accurate to the T-Rex, though he was told it would make him "More King" than before.

The other Dinobots eventually got fed up with talking stupid and now teach English at the top five universities.

Devastator became a hermit, the team members masking themselves as actual pieces of construction equipment, and no one knows where they are.

Soundwave now travels the country with the cassettes as an improv group. They have the lowest cost for sound effects imaginable.

Tracks was hunted down and crushed in a Car Crusher by the KKK.

Sideswipe and Sunstreaker now train lions and tigers for their Las Vegas show.

Huffer was killed. I mean, come on.

Inferno was arrested, as investigators uncovered that he was actually setting the fires he was putting out.

Hoist became a tow-truck in the midwest and now has three kids.

Grapple now pimps several fem-bots and uses the money to buy Anti-Matter Energon. Who woulda thought?

Hound became a human. Nah, I'm just kiddin'! He went on a killing spree in an effort to make his own human suit.

Thrust killed himself over rampant jokes concerning his name.

Blitzwing, in a strange mishap concerning the fourth dimension, shot himself in jet mode while he was in tank mode.

Springer lost a spring and now is called Walker. No relation to the kick-boxing reject.

Arcee is still a ****-tease.

Jazz eventually quite smoking, and now sings in the Broadway production of "The Phantom of the Opera."

And imagine, this started out as being serious. But I have to quit, I'm running out of bots.

I think that if the transformers were still trying to hide from humans, they would.  They didn't seem to concerned about it in the movie era 2005 though.

If they wanted to hide from each other, I'm sure they'd change thier alt modes often.

I dunno. theres plenty of old 1970's 1980's vehicles rolling around. I guess if someone wanted to say in 'mint' condition they'd stay well enough hidden in older models. I mean come on, even in the more modern days Bumblebee still blends in as an old Bug.

No he doesn't! Every time I see a bug I go, "Hey! Bumblebee!" Though now it's more towards that particular shade of custard yellow in the newer beetles.

From a marketing standpoint, it would be a good idea to keep the alt modes up-to-date. I mean, that's the only reason why we got "Transmetal" and "Transmetal 2" forms. Right?

Warpath hires a speech coach

Wheelie adds profanities to his rhymes.

But TM and TM2s are worse disguises.  If I saw a metal rat, I wouldn't be fooled for a second.

ya but we are not talking about TM but the original characters, and I think with Alternators and Binaltech, they pretty much got the right idea, I just think a bit more tweeking in choosing the alts is in need of work.  Prowl should have been still a Nissan Z for sure, and the new prime should not be a DODGE RAM
