How about a line of Universe G1 repaints.  I never really felt like spend 30$ on the reissues, but if they were repainted as Universe line maybe I would pick so of them up.  Like a modern day repaint of a G1 seeker to make him look a life like F15.

Or Silverstreak err uh Bluestreak, done up in his Anime colors like he's pictured on the box. I'm seriously suprised that Hasbro hasn't jumped at this opportunity to make more $$$ off of Transformer collectors!

Universe stuff has been hit and miss, some I liked (I like the universe color snarl better than the original). But I agree they should do more G2, machine wars...stuff that's harder to find.

Perhaps the whole Universe line is "due dilligence" on Hasbro's part. Like the "Japanese Leo Convoy collectors edition" they did on their website a few years back.

 

Let me axplain.....

 

 

We fans ask hasbro to release lots of nice recoloured toys. hasbro sees an opportunity to release old for new via Universe, as the recoloured toys at Botcon did so well.

 

However, they also dont really want the line to so REALLY well, as they have invested cash in the other TF lines (G1, alternators, etc).

 

And thus, they DELIBERATELY make Universe toys that WONT SELL.

I wish they'd just come out and confirm that they either 1) cannot produce other Scramble City combiners from existing molds, or 2) they choose not to and list the reasons why.

 

Universe is the perfect way to rerelease them if they exist... at $25.00 a set (like Arctic Camo Ruination) that's really in the right ball park price.

I can more than agree with Lio/Leo Convoy and Big Convoy being put into the universe line…that’s what I have been wanting to see for some time. I’m sure that some people didn’t get to get a few of the toys that are in the line now but for the most part the Universe line is rather tired.

 

Putting Figures that weren’t released in North America would really help Universe to become so much more than just a “repaint line”, which it openly is. :thumb

The next ultra sized releases go back in time a little farther than the more recent. The word is that it will be a Machine Wars Soundwave repaint with a Battle Unicron repaint, and Machine Wars Sandstorm with a Spystreak repaint. The names listed with these entries are "Unicorn/Stockade" for the unicorn/soundwave set and "Whirl w/ Gunbarrel/MakeBlot" for the sandstorm/spystreak set. Why Whirl is listed as coming with two bots is unsure at this point.

Hmm....that sounds very interesting. I hope they don’t go made crazy with the paint schemes. If they can hold them selves back with the colors these could be good figures…guess only time will tell. :thumb
