What's happened to the Robot Masters line?

Recommended Posts

I wasn't trying to make an argument about which is better ................. Takara has much more love for the fans. Hasbro is all about the all mighty dollar

My post was 2-fold, addressing the Aaron Archer misquote and your post, and secondly just my own personal spouting off, it wasn't meant as any direct reply to you.

The Takara "love" vs. Hasbro "dollar" thing.... could you explain why you think that? I don't understand and it's always sounded like a convoluted cloudy irrational thought to me. (I'm not saying it is that, it just seems like it to me so I'd like to understand the viewpoint better.)

IMO, Takara has a selection of toys that cater more to what I want. They don't make 100+ figues every year making them a little easier to collect them all and they don't re-use molds near as often as Hasbro. The reissues are what really got me though. Compare any of them. Beautiful new packaging with lots of inserts compared to a figure that has no chrome weapons for the same price(the cars anyhow), and the added extras like megatron in gun mode, energy weapons, cartoon accurate paint jobs, etc is just icing on the cake. Like some of the Universe figures, the american re-issues just seemed half-assed. Not to mention I've never had trouble getting any of the Japanese toys but going out looking for any new american formers just seems like a waste of time and I don't even have any scalpers in my area. After so many years of crappy distribution and ppl Starscreaming to them about it, You'd think they would have fixed it by now. It seems to me that Hasbro just don't care about the fans. Now I'm not saying Takara is God but they just seem to have a better product. Now if there was just a way of getting them without having to pay import prices. But I will give credit where credit is due: If there was no Hasbro we'd never even have Transformers, the greatest toy line of all time.(eat it star wars fans  :tftongue )

Could it be that you have no trouble getting Japanese Transformers because you have to order them? It's not like there are a bunch of stores that you can go to and hunt for them.

It seems to me that Hasbro just don't care about the fans.

What the heck. I'll bite. :)

- Beast Wars 10th Anniversary including new molds later

- pushing for 1/24 scale instead of smaller less detailed and working parts Alternators

- the G1 revival line

- showing up at conventions

- pushing for another movie

- Energon and Cybertron exclusive molds (which rock hardcore)

I'm feelin the hate and it's awesome.

the Robotmasters toys line seems has stopped

Let's not forget the fact that they gave Alternator Shockblast his correct name on his license plate.  That subversive act alone gives them points over Takara.

Taking time to not make Alt. Sunstreaker nothing but yellow and black in robot mode is also another good thing they did.

Since the Universe line was never released beyond the US, then the RM line appearing in the import shops here in the UK is a blessing for TF fans.  If Hasbro actually released TF's beyond the US, then it wouldn't be such a hate thing towards them.  If they want to make a profit, then they have to stand to lose a little to gain a lot.  Releasing TF's here would be a good idea if they bothered to advertise, attract the attention of kids and adults, especially adults who were kids when the first TF lines came out, and keep the prices at a fair price so that parents don't avoid the toys when buying for their kids.  You can't sell a product if no one knows it's there.

Good Riddence to Robot masters.  Cheaply made for the supposed effort put in. The plastic they used was awful, and made all the toys I got feel like KO's.  Espescially Star Saber.  for Shame.

fine, if you hate them so much  i'll gladly take them of your hands.

If there are people who don't want their RM's anymore, I'll take them off their hands slowly.  I love the line and would love to complete it.  Yes they do have flaws and a lot of them could have one with a little more work in terms of the leg joints, arm joints and construction in some areas.  But despite those flaws they are a good, well thought out line that deserved to be noticed more.  If it were to ever come back, I would consider buying it.
