i have recently aquired all the convoys from the various bw's. here are my thoughts:

 

lio convoy- his beast mode reminds me of cheetor, but with more posability. i liked his beast mode right away. transformation was pretty easy both ways (unlike big convoy). now on his shoulders are some pegs to keep them in place in beast mode, but theres nothing for them to go into for robot mode (very well anyways). a part of the lion body slides down to hold the arms in place but it doesnt work very well. thats my biggest beef with him i guess. he doesnt have a great amount of detail to speak of. the lions head over the right shoulder limits mobility of that arm quite a bit. but he does look pretty badass with his claws out.

 

i must say he didnt live up to my expectations. but id still buy him just to have.

 

big convoy- beast mode looks good, but theres no moving parts in it. transformation isnt very hard, to robot that is. just try to get him back to beast mode. hes a puzzle-former. ive learned every little annoying trick to make my binaltechs fit together perfectly, and i still have trouble with big convoy. in robot mode he just looks like a war machine. total badass. his gun is huge. the only thing that limits this figure is all the puzzle pieces that are attatched to his limbs kinda limit his mobility. and the matrix in his chest is a nice touch. i also think the head sculpt is quite superior to the others. the sculpt overall is quite detailed as well.

 

he is a great addition to any collection. and hes quite affordable if you buy the korean boxed version. im pretty sure hes the same exact thing.

 

beast convoy(monkey)- everyone has this guy. if not the origional then the universe repaint. and if you dont have him then go get him. posability in both modes are great. weapons coming out the wazzoo. other than hes a little large id say hes great. i hear the rm version is quite good as well.

 

if you have him you know. if you dont go get one.

 

 

i have the black and flash version of lio convoys on the way. not sure if ill open them at this point. i still plan on getting big black convoy, clear beast convoy, burning beast convoy, and the rm versions of all these figures. if anyone has anything to add id like to hear. id like to hear about the rm lio convoy. it looks good.

Onyx Primal and Takara CD version Optimus Primal. Just to help your eBay searches. And RM-23 LioConvoy is beautiful, and the mold fixes up whatever problems the BWII version has.

 

 

Also, what about TM Primal and TM Optimal Optimus (go the Takara BW Metals Convoy and Powered Convoy, better paint apps)? They're awesome figures.

 

There's also deluxe BM Optimus Primal, BM Blast Punch Optimus Primal, RiD Air Attack Optimus Primal, BW Metals Mini-Convoy, BW Microverse "Orcanoch" playset (comes with a tiny none transforming primal), Optimus Minor (kinda a half arsed clone), and even Lio Junior (get the Korean Magnaboss set).

 

There's even a Kabaya Beast Change Kit version of LioConvoy, although if you manage to find that one I will have to kill you.

When I got Big Black Convoy, I called him Mr. T.  :D

 

What ruins my joke is that it's black big convoy, but i always thought the other way flowed better.  Regardless - I won't even bother getting regular big convoy, he looks TWICE as badass in the black and gold color scheme.

i wasnt really including the tms and bm figs. i have all of those and i like them. the kabaya one, dont worry about. i never even heard of it. the lio juniors... i dunno if ill include them in my bw convoy set. microverse one pfffft. he wishes he was good enough to be included.

He's a couple of inches tall, basically only has articulation at the elbows, and stands... about a head shorter than the RM LioConvoy, and almost two heads shorter than RM Beast Convoy. He looks really nice though, the transmetal blue is good and he has pretty nice paint apps on his robot chest.
