what?!?!?!

satanstorm you are out of line!

This ranks right up there with Kitbashers and scratchbuilders in my book!

we are ALL GEEKS so get used to it you fools.

These guys ROCK - and even if they didnt build it themselves - how many people here have bid on a $250 MISBOMFGBBQ minty Ebayprime

or

paid $500 for a broken unpainted proto

Cheers to the guys building these things - cheers to the guys wearing them

F** off to all of you giving them a hard time

Lighten up, HR. What I said was just a jab at Mr. Optimus Prime. Granted, a lot of the costumes are cool, a lot of them aren't. I really don't see why making a costume based on an exisiting design is considered as creative. The transforming ones are cool, granted, but those are far and few in between.

As for grown men who wear these costumes? I won't go there.

The prime costume is very interesting to see in real life. It is interesting because you have full motion when you wear it, you can even run if you wanted to. It is all done in plastic and is very light, unlike some of the other ones I have seen. It is all made by hand and can be considered ghetto if you look at it from a manufactured point of view. The cool thing about it is that you can stand up the costume when not wearing it and have it like a 6 foot statue. It will do the truck mode as you can see from the pictures. It is rather ingenious in its composition and I know that I could never put together anything like that.

I think I have more pics of it somewhere. I know I took like 50 pics that day when he brought it in to show me.

Spencer.

I just went to the Hollywood Halloween parade - and i saw every thing from a storebought t-shirt that said "This is My Costume"

to a 10ft tall Demon on stilts with spring loaded wings that popped out.

I dont see how you can judge them as being creative or not...

Halloween might not be for everyone - designing toys/costumes/sculptures may not be for everyone

but dont knock the guys who do it just cause You have no talent....

Hey i still think the diehard Cosplayers are weird - but i am not judging them on their artistic abilities....

WRX- i love that flo-chart

Hunter

(who has no talent and is in awe of those that do)

um yeah - all those guys are weird too.....

everyone is wierd! just in there own way :D

i mean come on...how many ppl think TFans are wierd?

exactly my point - but WRX's Flo Chart is still way funnie

I think my favorite one still is that cardboard box-former.. someone had it as an avatar or somethin...

The ONLY reason I would make a mech costume would be for the challenge, therefore no Cardboard , but I probably wouldnt do a tranformers, maybe the transformable suit Daniel and Spike wore in G1.

::Thinks about the possibilties::

A costume Im SERIOUSLY considering thou is Zeus Gundam (G Gundam)

reason why?  Most accurate human preportions, Complete WITH his Charot ( I figued a bike frame with a Dryer motor for drive.  No PHYSICAL  plans yet BUT I have it planned piece for piece in my head, now all I need is the time and $$$.
