how would a new war with Japan affect TF's?

Recommended Posts

according to this article, Japan is planing to build up its military forces. since japanese museums teach that Japan was the victim in WW2 and that its defeat was a grave injustice, this means that it's only a matter of time before Japan renews hostilities with the USA in an attempt to reclaim their Bushido Honor. how would this affect TF's? most likely, the american government would enact a ban on all japanese related imports. would Hasbro be allowd to make an american tf toy series or would tf's be considered too japanese and would have to be banned in all forms?

Your link doesn't work.

On a positive note, at least the next series wouldn't be anime.

Aside from the fact that it would never happen for a whole host of political and economic reasons, Takara would plant mini-spying devices in all TFs made to spy on you, the average American :-p

realisticly i doubt america or japan could afford to go to war

also america wouldnt ban everything japanease

it would hurt the economy to much

just my 2 cents

Have a look at the empirical outcomes of World War II. After the US dropped the bombs on Nagasaki and Hiroshima, our country could have left them to rot, but we established democracy and helped them back to their feet. Even though the US killed a lot of Japanese people, there's no reason Japan would take revenge now. Think about it; you don't see the Jewish community looking to instill a holocaust against the Germans. Japan could use more of a military anyways. Just because their country invests in an armed forces doesn't mean anything about conflict with the United States. It's not a good idea to use phrases like "Bushido Honor" to describe motives. Bushido is a samurai code of chivalry from archaic times. The nation of Japan is not all ninjas and samurai anymore. Use words like "dignity" to demonstrate what a people would want to reclaim from an injustice.

Anyways, Japan and the United States are completely tied economically. I have serious reservations about believing that the US government would put up a trade embargo against Japan in light of car companies like Toyota, Honda, and Mitsubishi, and electronics companies like Sony and Toshiba. Worrying about Takara seems a bit shallow in light of all the important stuff supposedly at stake.

Besides that, there are more relevant things for Japan to worry about, such as the Postal system that so many people are abusing, or the economic slump they're in. Koizumi has his work cut out for him, and he's too smart to waste his time trying to level some sort of revenge against a country with completely different leadership and motives than it had fifty years before.

Y'know Hornet, as an asian Canadian I find your thinly veiled Japanophobia disturbing at best. No country, person, thing is perfect. History has shown that time and again. Yes. Japan will just up and start a war because of their Bushido code. Oh Blot. We better lock em up again while we're at it.
