Oh well, we can still hope that Unicron grows in size and goes medieval on Primus.

(Like how megsy/Galvatron got really big in Energon. Many. Many times)

Japenese writers are not known for their creativity. Beast Machines had a few things such as Silverbolt being Jetstorm and Rhinox being Tankor that really surprised people.

 

I think this is another case of bad Japanese writing. They needed Megs to have a new weapon and felt this was the way ro give it to him. Then he could blast the Autobots, leading to their reformatting. They could never come up with something clever like Primus is manipulating the war.

 

Furman on the other hand did something like this. At the end of the G1 series, Unicron attacked Cybertron. Before that he sent his minions after Optimus Prime to have him killed. Primus knew of this (and of course did not tell Prime) and named him leader so they would reveal themselves. Not only that but the Autobot/Decepticon alliance would be tested immediately.

 

Now that is clever writing. But then again, comparing Furman to Japanese writers is to compare a brand new sports car to an old rusty sedan picked up from a crooked dealer.  :tflaugh

So even when Unicron was marked down below $20 you never gave in? I bought 2. One for $20 and then two weeks later, another for $13 for the kid.

GF isn't the same continuity as ML and SP, but CYBERTRON is the same continuity as ENERGON and ARMADA. It was always planned that way, Aaron Archer does a lot of overall story framework before designing ideas of toys and A/E/C is his "Unicron Trilogy".

 

Takara later changed their story to not be a continuation. Who knows if Takara will even release deluxe Unicron, there's been no word about releases of some show characters(Gigalonia guys, Armbullet), and Primus is being released as more of a G1 guy than a GF guy.

 

Hope I didn't spoil anything... I thought the deluxe Unicron tank was common knowledge after Botcon.

i do wish DW was still running, they would have done a great job of tieing the continuties togeather..like showing how the autobots reformated into their new bodies, how megatron escaped the destruction of unicron and salvaged the new armor
