Thanks guys, but as Cybertron is smaller than Earth that would mean there isn't enough space for the transformers to move around freely (about 8 times the size of humans and all) unless they could conilize beaneath it.

Are you basing that on the assumption that Cybertron has as many Transformers as Earth has humans?

I'm pretty sure there aren't nearly that many Transformers.

I'm pretty sure there aren't nearly that many Transformers.

In the second episode of Beast Machines Megatron boasts to Primal that billions of Transformers sparks have been lost due to Primal's failure to win the Beast Wars.

And this talk of Cybertron and Unicron being moon or Mars sized is utter crap. First off, that scene in "The Ultimate Doom" where Cybertron is being pulled towards Earth via the Space Bridge. Earth only looks bigger because it's closer to the 'camera' than Cybertron. In other words, depth perception. And besides, we're using the G1 cartoon as a reference for size and scale. THE G1 CARTOON! According to one episode, individual members of the Constructicons are able to fit in one of Ultra Magnus's hands, implying that Ultra Magnus is indeed the size of Devastator. (Yeah, right.)

Secondly, The Marvel comics stated he and Cybertron were approximately the size of Saturn.

Thirdly, Unicron has consumed entire universes. Now, how is he supposed to do that if the only things he can consume are asteroids?

And finally, Unicron eats planets, therefore logic dictates that Unicron is significantly larger than most planets. And if Cybertron is equal in size to Unicron, then logic once again dictates that Cybertron is also a considerably large planet.

Trust me, planet Earth will have no problem fitting in Unicron's maw.

Beast-era Transformers are smaller and more fuel-efficient, so there are probably a lot more than there were during G1.

But in addition to looking smaller, Cybertron was also in orbit around the Earth. (In low orbit, considering how bad the tidal effects were.) And Cybertron was knocked out of Earth orbit without dragging Earth with it. So it must be considerably smaller than Earth.

But Cybertron being small is not contradicted by the rest of the cartoon.

Secondly, The Marvel comics stated he and Cybertron were approximately the size of Saturn.

It said Cybertron was, not Unicron. (But Cybertron and Unicron are the same size.) And I've already explained why that information might not be reliable and how later comics seem to contradict it.

Thirdly, Unicron has consumed entire universes. Now, how is he supposed to do that if the only things he can consume are asteroids?

He wasn't in his current body when he did that. His original form (and Primus's too) wasn't material at all.

And finally, Unicron eats planets, therefore logic dictates that Unicron is significantly larger than most planets.

Maybe he just doesn't eat large planets?

What about Cybertron's moons in the movie? They were sizable in comparison to Unicron, which means they'd be much bigger than Earth if Unicron was Saturn-sized. And yet, they didn't seem to be planet-sized at all.

CYBER-FORMING

The Process of Cyber-forming involved the gradual layering of metal construction material around Cybertron's original bedrock-core. After each layer of metal was added, Layers or deposits of energon were inserted. Thus, Cybertron's geology comprises of many layers of metal, plastic and other inorganic substances (mainly metal) sandwiched between energon or empty space. This means that as energy as no mass, Cybertron was able to have an immensely large surface area, and not a great deal of mass.

This was to help the Quintessons create a factory like planet, able to create products in different departmental layers of the planet.

However, it is this design process that led to Cybertron leaving its 'natural' orbit' because of the Great war (low mass and large explosions don't go together).

Also, the honeycombed structure of Cybertron has been both a blessing and a curse for scientists researching its core.

Historians are still at loggerheads over if Cybertron was Transformed before or after the indigenous population died out. Biological samples from some of Cybertron's geology and also from Char(Cybertron's only biological satellite) are still giving conflicting evidence to support or contradict the various theories flying around.

One thing is certain, there was an intelligent race before the Transformers came to be, living on a biological planet that eventually became Cybertron. Historians have no clue as to why or what happened to this race.

Hope this helps.

just had to add, this is a funny topic... :)

Beast-era Transformers are smaller and more fuel-efficient, so there are probably a lot more than there were during G1.

Yes, but there's still some retired Autobots, and several billion Transformers is still alot, more than a moon-sized "planet" can hold.

But in addition to looking smaller, Cybertron was also in orbit around the Earth. (In low orbit, considering how bad the tidal effects were.) And Cybertron was knocked out of Earth orbit without dragging Earth with it. So it must be considerably smaller than Earth.

It's a cartoon, cartoons don't always follow the laws of physics.

But Cybertron being small is not contradicted by the rest of the cartoon.

You missed the point entirely. The point is that since the animation and scale is as consistant as John Kerry's stance on any given issue, it's hard to say anything regarding size is actual truth.

It said Cybertron was, not Unicron. (But Cybertron and Unicron are the same size.) And I've already explained why that information might not be reliable and how later comics seem to contradict it.

Please. The line about "evolving from natural occuring gears and pulleys" is easier to dismiss then 90% of the cartoon's flubs and inconsistancies such as the origins of the Constructicons or Unicron being a giant supernatural demon-like robot with psychic powers and the ability to reform any TF into any form he desires to a giant oversized Frankenstein monster created by a shaved monkey.

And Primus and Unicron can turn asteroids into Saturn-sized worlds because they're gods. Come on, we're talking about guys who jump to and from any continuity and universe, and have an internal universe within themselves. This is nothing. :)

He wasn't in his current body when he did that. His original form (and Primus's too) wasn't material at all.

And he also destroyed other realities while in his physical form. Primus and the Transformers didn't win all the time.

Maybe he just doesn't eat large planets?

Except he does.

Kranix: "My planet was destroyed by Unicron."

Hot Rod: "Unicron? Who's Unicron?"

Kranix: "A planet that devours everything in it's path!"

Last time I checked just small asteroids does _NOT_ = "everything in it's path."

Unicron is a dark god bent on the absolute destruction of ALL life in every universe and reality. Thus, he'd design his bodies to be as big and as powerful as needed to accomplish this unholy mission.

What about Cybertron's moons in the movie? They were sizable in comparison to Unicron, which means they'd be much bigger than Earth if Unicron was Saturn-sized. And yet, they didn't seem to be planet-sized at all.

And Cybertron had _atleast_ two of them, possibly even three or four. That's quite abit of gravity exerted on Cybertron.

perhaps Unicron/Cybertron change their dimensuions, like Tfs do? Mind you, it would cause a BIG prob on Cybertron/....
