I bought Alt. Prowl just to do the mod in person. The new legs are fantastic. You can do a lot of action poses. It is just too bad that the upper body is not made to complement a poseable lower body (IMO). You cannot rotate the arms at the shoulder/chest section and the head cannot look up, which is why I prefer the Mustang mold.

You guys mention the same problems I had with the engine and chest. I remembered the V-thing when trying to put the engine back. I also hated that I every time I tried to pose his arms, the chest would pop up. Another concern is that most of Prowl's car exterior is made of clear plastic that is painted white. Be careful of chipping.

If you have Prowl, try the mod. It is worth the experiment.

Don't be a geek. Leave the legs in their intended transformation.  With those ball jointed ankles, you should be lucky he can stand up at all.

Fixed that with some crazy glue last night.

I modded mine!

I really like the new look.  I have noticed that his ankles are alittle on the wobbly side but not so much that i have had to worry about them.

I had a real difficult time getting him back into car mode even with out wrestling with the engine... damn arms...

I was thinking of doing the mod myself, but then I heard that you can not transform him back to car mode as well.  Something about how the legs don't line up quite right and will not look right in car mode.  Any problems with this issue with any of you who have done the mod?

If done the mod doesn't allow the little doors that hide his thighs within the lower legs to close completely in car mode.  The doors stay slightly ajar due to the fact that his pelvis no longer fits completely inside (as it is now backwards).  However, the doors are only very slightly ajar and do not detract from the car mode too much, as all four wheels will still touch the ground (he just has a little less ground clearance).

also, HOW THE HELL do you get that damn engine in?  I haven't correctly put it in yet. what's your secret? :)

When I first opened the fig, I took great note to the fact the his arms in car mode are are pointing toward each other...

hope this makes since. it's hard to describe with no pics. I need a digicam.

I'll be damned.  Great job!  thanx a lot.

Next Prowl question:  What's the hole for on one of his undercarriage flaps?  Located under the red vent, on his modded right leg.

not sure what prowl is suppose to do with the hole, but you can put standard weapons/pegs into the hole.

Mine transforms back into car mode just fine. The undercarriage closes snugly. Also, I too had a lot more luck when I started putting the engine in from the front to the back.

I only have two problems with the mod. 1. The legs do indeed look hollow and 2. the periwinkle blue now looks even more out of place due to hoow little of it there is now.

Does any one know a good way to paint Prowl's feet black?

I'd probably just use some Tamiya hobby paint and a brush, but if you want to do a really good job, pop them off of their posts, and spray paint them using Krylon Fusion paint - it binds to plastic super well.

I voted do not mod....i guess I a nazi or something because I like him the way he came. I dont put them in Uber Gey bendy poses like the rest of you I guess....I just like a nice straight up stance. And I think the mod makes him look too clunky and bulky, like the Mustangs that i really do not care for after having them for a while. Oh and PS...I did not vote for Bush. But I did vote for NOT changing the way prowl was meant to be.
