Hey guys, I'm looking for some recs for G1 season 1-3 complete DVD sets.  I've seen two sets on ebay: one deluxe version in a wood box, the other a cheaper Chinese option.  I haven't had any luck finding a *complete* set on Amazon or DeepDiscount etc.  I guess I'm looking to get all three seasons in a nice, economical package.  :tftongue

 

I'd like to find all the G1's in one set for a nice price.  Would anyone be kind enough to recommend a site/collection?  Are the one's on ebay decent options?  The cheaper ebay box set looks tempting...

Season 2 part 2 seems to be the hardest one to find.

 

I thought about buying the woodbox edition myself even though I have a completed set now.

Thanks.  I can search the web ok, but my question is more what should I be searching for?  Is the cheap Chinese set in the link any good?

As some one who buys alot of anime DVDs, I would suggest that you stay away from anythign that is labeled as All Region and/or made in China/ Hong Kong. Both tend to be good sighns that what you would be buying is not an official release and is actualy priated, meaning that all the people involved with the show are not seeing a dime. But that's just my opinion.

Honestly at this point finding the complete G1 set on DVD for cheap isn't likely.  Even those Chinese box sets tend to hit high numbers on Ebay.

I've got the wooden box set.  I know that some of Season 3 is out of order.  I never watched season 4.

Bump.  If anyone cares, I eventually ordered the Chinese set.  I ordered it from this seller. 

 

The quality is excellent.  Audio and video are perfect.  Dealing with the Chinese menus is a non-issue.  Really, for the price, you can't beat it.  I'm very happy with the purchase.  I do think that the cardboard box might have been a better choice over the metal box set I purchased.  The metal box is not worth the extra money, and I think the DVD's would be easier to get out of the cardboard box.

 

One big problem: My disk 4 was missing the English track.  Yeah, a big issue.  Luckily the ebay seller (100% feedback) was very responsive and promised to exchange the disk for me.  I mailed it just a few days ago, so I imagine it will be a while before I get it.

 

Also, regarding this seller, if you're interested: She is very quick to answer email and I had the set in hand (from China) in about two weeks...

I just ordered the Season 2 and 3 set 8 DVDs that were released in China. I haven't gotten them yet, but I hope they work well.
