Is Takara really pulling out of the Transformers?

I was just wondering.  It'd be a shame for the Japanese fans. They'd have to import to get their bot fix.  :tdown

I'm guessing that they're just not planning a cartoon-supported mainline at this time.  BTs and reissues will likely continue.

I hope so, cause lord only knows we wont get any decent reissues from Hasbro from this point forward, and well...... they did make up swerve for the BT/ALT line..... and while he's not a bad bot... he's not the greatest either....

Although, it wouldn't surprise me if Takara stopped (or at least, drastically slowed the pace) of their reissues as well.  For instance, stopping the numbered "TF Collection" book/box versions and just releasing a couple a year in their "original" packaging, like Star Convoy and Galvatron.  They have to be close to exhausting the molds available for toys/characters people would actually want.

no

I  doubt Takara will ditch TF's outright. However they're definately putting it on the backburner for now....  GF is winding down. Primus is the only confirmed remaining GF toy.

Im pretty sure Arm Bullet will not get a Japanese release.  Maul Dive and Blender seem to be the same(?) If such is the case, there's a good chance the US versions will be released to TRU in Japan.

Cybertron has a longway to go, partially becasue Hasbro are behind Takara and partially because Hasbro will pad Cybertron out with repaints and a few exclusive molds.

An extended period without any 'main' TF line in Japan seems likely....    however they're unlikely to skip over the following line,#

As for reissues, they're *far* from over. Many of the TFC items proved extremely popular in Japan,  Relatively speaking the cost of producing a reissue can be pretty low, the mold (where useable) is already made and design time is minimal....

There certainly appears to be a focus on reissuing larger items however which puts a big question mark over items like Ramjet, Thrust, Trailbreaker etc

Any idea which reissues were most popular?  I'd imagine there may have been greater demand for some of the characters like the decepticons that never saw wide release here such as Megatron, Soundwave.

i hope not...i am still hopin for a twincast repaint of blaster...wohoo...we got soundblaster...why not twincast...
