And I can't figure out what Wheeljack's WWII alt mode is supposed to be. Jazz either, for that matter. Hmm...or Superion, now that I think about it. Don never included those three when talking about the designs of all the characters. :grr

I got nothing, but I just wanted to say that that's like the only comic book that I would actually buy. I friggin love the artwork in that.

I have all six comics and the TPB (just got TPB from ebay yestiddy)....I'm a sucker for WWII stuff.

Superion never had an alternate mode... :wtf did he?

Superion is a gestalt, made up of several Transformers. (Like I needed to tell you that. :roll) His parts transfor into seperate TFs, which each can transform into airplanes. I think only Silverbolt was shown 'on screen'.

 

As for the rest: no friggin' clue. I ain't no WWII expert, sorry.

Uh..yeah. I was refering to the obvious...I'm not sure if its Silverbolt 'cuz I would imagine him to be larger (a medium-heavy bomber, B-17 or B-24 for example) but his head shape seems similar. It shows one panel with a bunch of (what appear to be) P-40 Warhawks, or something similar. I'd show it sos you guys can see, but I don't think I can...it is out of print, and I'm don't think it's that easy to obtain anymore...

I don't know why, but I like all the wires and crap that hang off them (which I'm sure is the very thing that drives other people crazy about the designs).

 

I was disappointed that Dreamwave went under before they were able to release the planned TBP version with black and white artwork.

The artwork stinks in that crossover.  The artist needs nickname, Jae "Knocked Over the Bottle of India Ink" Lee.  The sad thing is, the pencils themselves are really good, but there's just black everywhere. 

 

 

Oh, and Aerialbots are a bunch of Allied WWII planes.  Bumblebee is a motorcycle and Hound is a Jeep, he and Megatron are the only characters to retain their original alt-modes.  Optimus Prime is some sort of railway artillery cannon.  Soundwave is a WWII field phone.

Like I said...some may disagree about the style. I love the darkness.

 

Megatron is a actually a Luger pistol, slightly different from the Walther. Don conjured up a transformation that used the gun's barrel as his fusion cannon so there was no need for extra parts.

And Optimus is an M26 "Dragon Wagon" tank recovery vehicle...Shockwave is the rail gun. :thumb

I didnt like the art style. Instead of being dark and moody the tfs were just black silluoiets(sp) with red eyes. Usually u couldnt c Don Figueroas great designs innthe pics
