  it came straight from hasbros mouth that they would be exclusive to target at botcon. a few online stores can get a coulpe of cases and sell them, but when they hit the stores it will be target who carrys them. even if you order them from an online store now you still have to wait until jan to get them when they will hit the stores anyways

What came straight from Hasbro's mouth at Botcon? That "they" are target exclusives. Beast Wars are you say? The Universe 2-packs are.

 

I was at Botcon, I went to the Hasbro panels, I remember them talking about the Universe stuff being Target exclusives, I don't recall them saying anything about the Beast Wars guys being exclusive to anywhere. I could be wrong. But are you 100% sure that you really heard BW was Target exclusives and not just mixing it up with Universe? Are you really 100% sure?

 

In the Hasbro display, the Universe guys had "Target Exclusive" printed on their name cards,... I'll try to find some pics but I don't think the BW guys had that on them.

 

It's very easy to get some of these details mixed up, and there's no shame in being wrong... but let's figure it out before spreading false information further. I remember at BC2000 we first heard that Magmatron would be released in the US as a Target exclusive as well as the news of a black and white repaint of Gigatron as Devil Gigatron would be part of the CR line, in Japan. Shortly after the convention the "fact" making the rounds was that Target would be getting a black and white Gigatron repaint as an exclusive... totally mixing up 2 separate pieces of information.

Just because an online store has them up for order doesn't mean they're not store exclusives... just look at the pre-orders for the CostCo Prime & Magnus set.

meh.  I'll pass on the pre-order.  Since there's only 3 figures to a wave, I doubt they'll be hard to find.  I would even hazard a guess that the first wave will be shelf warmers and the second wave is the one people will end up getting on line.

The 10th Anniversary Megs and Prime are where its at anyway.  They are fabtacular!
