This is what I was imagining: someone like a BW Dinobot-type figure. Let's say that a Predacon escaped Megatron's virus, and he wasn't too thrilled about what Megatron had done, so he decides to join the Maximals in order to fight his new world order etc. I just think it could have been a nice way to add a more complex character into the mix.

i think he would have needed a reason to stay... like he had the virus and only the maximals were able to stablelise him when it hit... or something :redface

I think he'd've fought with the maximals, but wouldn't've been trust worthy, sorta like tarantulas was to megs.

The pred could also have hid until the vehicon generals were made, then become one with hopes of usurping megs.

i think, that if he were predacon, that he wouldn't fight megatron at all.  He'd just try and find a way off of cybertron for good.

I think he would fight megatron because megs had cybertron on lock down.

His only choices would be to fight with the maxies, fight megs + maxies, or get his spark taken by megs.

I imagined something similar to Nightscream, which is why I mentioned his name. He could have just been some random survivor who happened to be a Predacon. How would the Maximals have handled that situation? Etc.

 

Personally, I think it would have been cool for him/her to be a perfectly trustworthy character who was nevertheless *not* trusted by anyone... you know, that whole Xbob "misunderstood" thing. *is serious*

I'm pretty sure that the goal of the Tripredacus Council was *not* the enslavement of all Transformers on Cybertron and the forcible removal of their sparks. As was demonstrated in "The Agenda" in BW, Megatron already had a penchant for doing things his own way. As such, I don't think it's a given that any other Predacon would fight on his side. After all, Megatron had given no prior indication that he favored Predacons over Maximals (in terms of the spread of his virus).

I mean clearly by the time BM comes around - ANYONE with a beast mode (and spark for that matter) is labled a "Maximal".

No.

You started this Topic as a what if... assuming that TFs were "what they are" like a race.

But so far the discussion has completely revolved around CHOICES an individual TF might make. which indicates that "Maximal" and "Predicon" are in fact Alegences or almost nationalities. But not even that.

 

So If they are inherantly something - then Dinobot and BlackArachnia ARE Predacons Through and Through.

 

But if the labels are arbitray - then the factions are designated by who ever is in charge or whoever is Initiating the conflict.

Thus WHATEVER Nightscream was before - he is now a Maximal by default

Primal etal. would have had no reason to trust or not trust him based on who they Assume he used to work for because they didnt know ANYTHING about him when they met - EXCEPT ONE THING:

MAXIMALS had BeastModes & Sparks

As did he - thus they teamed up.
