What if (BM) Nightscream had been a Predacon?

Recommended Posts

Yeah, I agree. I don't think what Tarantulas did with Blackarachnia, or what Megatron did with Silverbolt, Rhinox and Waspinator is at all common. I would guess that normally, a spark would be simply placed within a body and allowed to "express its true nature" without any interference. I'm guessing that the Stunticons genuinely are exactly what Megatron asked them to be -- Decepticons who would hate the Autobots and all that they stand for.

Which incidentally shoots down Xbob's "misunderstood, not evil" theory :P

Hating Autobots does not automaticly equal evil*.

*X-BoB58 describes Evil as enjoying killing ppl for recreation.

That's an example of evil, not what defines it...

In TFTM it's the "Heroic" Autobots vs the "Evil" Decepticons

and the BW toy boxes said "Heroic" Maximals &  "Evil" Predicons

Heroic Maximals don't go around creating bizzare Genetic experiments such as Protoform X, and they don't mindwipe the masses.

what about Megatrons TM2s?

:wtf

The transmetal 2 megs made.  like Dinobot :thumb

I think his :wtf was more about what does that have to do with anything?

I was saying megs was evil

my bad

showing that the preds and maxis did the same experiments doesn't help make the maximals look heroic.

Well in g1 Decepticons could fly & most Autobots could not.  Why can't all Preds fly if their Decepticon decedents?

all the autobots could fly when it was convinient. remember the oil platform fight? every autobot flew there on their own. thats why when galvatron says autobots cant fly i slowly began my desent into madness. also four other autobots took to the`skies to test fight swoop and snarl once they were built too.

One thing I liked about Beast Wars was the fact that the Maximals weren't perfect. They made mistakes, and didn't always try to rectify those mistakes in the best way. Which I think is a more realistic way to depict your characters, because that's how people are, and we can relate to that. I found the "Protoform X" story interesting because of this. After an ill-advised "genetic" (?) experiment that ends up creating a monster, the Maximals send the Axalon into deep space to simply "dump" him somewhere far away.

But here's where the difference comes in, I believe. You could tell that Optimus Primal's conscience bothered him about it. He wished it had never happened. Megatron, on the other hand -- well it's obvious that he wouldn't have cared at all, considering what he did to Rampage's spark. And in fact when Rampage *was* killed, Megatron casually referred to his death in a very detached manner. He clearly wasn't broken up about it.

The Maximals may make poor moral choices every now and then, but I think the important distinction is that they recognize this. The Predacons seem to have a general disregard for any life forms that aren't them. You never see Megatron reconsidering some evil plan because it might not be morally right. Come on.

There are three ways to look at this:

1) Autobots can't fly EXCEPT FOR any with aerial alt modes, or the Dinobots.

2) Autobots can't fly WELL, and are much slower and not as manueverable as Decepticons.

3) G1 cartoon inconsistiancy.  AUTOBOTS CAN'T FLY BWAAAAAAH!!!

Megs didn't go out of his way to kill anyone for no reason. Sure he's a war ciminal and as such he should have been locked up for a long time.

Megs didn't go out of his way to kill anyone for no reason.

Does he have to?

Megatron isn't a sociopathic killer. He doesn't kill people for no reason because there would be no reason to do so. He does everything for a purpose. He doesn't gain anything by randomly killing TFs, and that's why he doesn't do it.

Anyway, is it less evil to kill people simply because they stand in your way?

Actually it would seem that its MORE evil - because it implies premeditatoin

But Random Psychotic killings are more scary - because there is no discernable reason...
