No offence here. I'll skip both BTAs and wait for Alternators. I've seen both of them. The paint job is not up to BT standard. BTA Sunstreaker has two tone yellow. Ony the metal part is painted. The plastic parts are molded in yellow and not painted at all. To my opinion, these are the worst paint job in BTs. I don't know whether it has something to do with Takara being taken over by Tomy and has stricter budget.

This is exactly what they did with Dead End as well. It's more noticeable b/c it's yellow (which, yes, is painfully noticeable on BT Swindle).

 

I just can't believe this. The one guy I really wanted (Sunstreaker) and NEITHER version is satisfying. And I really don't want to spend $75 just to get both of them and create a "proper" Sunstreaker. :grr

Good luck finding the Alternator version of alert, since he's a Takara-only release. It looks like the US is getting Ricochet as the WRX repaint...

 

So far, the only BT where I've really noticed the painted/molded plastic issue is Swindle. I'll probably display SS in bot mode, so the absence of red accents is the kicker for me...it helps differentiate him from Dead End and Sideswipe (in bot mode).

 

And I thought the BTA line was only going to be straight repaints anyway...I don't think that is a sign of being lazy or cheap.

Gosh. I love Silverstreak. His colors go together well IMO

I just thought of something. Every one keeps talking about Streaker not having black stripes. Any one ever hear of reprolables?

 

Also one more better thing about BTA Streaker, it's black when you look through the rear window instead of cheap yellow.

Yeah, but who the hell wants to alter their toys? I know I don't. I like to have them the way they come. If I've got to add something to them, that wasn't intended, then I guess I should have just left them at the store.

Exactly, Takara is just moving the "straight repaints" into a seperate line - adding a little figure as an extra value.

I still prefer the Alt SunStreaker, mainly due to his red upper arm/shoulder elements and the chest piece. Plus he only has one tone of yellow.

 

I do like there's more yellow in the plate behind the chest on the BT.

 

The perfect one to me would be mostly Alt, with that backplate behind the chest made yellow like the BT, the forearms being BLACK and not grey and the hands being yellow.

Wahoo  an extra $5.00 for a figure that doesen't even have articulation.  Can't blame them, they must cost a  whopping 20 cents each to produce.

I have to admit, the sheer embarrassment of actually paying money for "Junko" is probably the biggest factor against buying BTA Streaker.
