More cons??

Recommended Posts

Well, since Takara is taking a break from the main lines after cybertron, does that mean we will get more b@d@$$ cons???

Since from what I heard cons do just as well as the bots everywhere else so......  Why not more cons too match the bot numbers??  Or do a BW/BM  and have bot/maxs out numbered....

...Just throwing some ideas around.... Nothing much.....

Nope. Even Hasbro likes a high autobot:decepticon ratio. Didn't someone say 60:40 at botcon?

At the very least.  With the show american made.  I doubt we will see many Non-show characters  (Unless of course its Done similar to BW)

What I'd like regarding the Cons in the future is a better screen representation. For example, Starscream is just as treacherous as ever but he's still an elite soldier. Nower days, all the cons are either scatterbrains or refuse to work as part of an elite fighting force. Back in the day Megs had an army. It really felt like a race of robots divided on their veiws and constantly in battle. Now it feels like Megs against a planet of Autobots.

its always going to be about 60:40 in favor of the bots. in the last few shows i agree the cons have always come across as a small group of tards with maybe 3 or so elite fighters almost always screamer and megs. in GF its better they all seem to be able to shoot in the right direction and thier is sorta team work between gasket and arm/land bullet

just look at Brave Series to understand Takara's ideal tf toyline: 1 main robot who looks like a mechanical samurai, the various other robots he combines with to power-up, and no villians.

but it's not just Takara, most japanese anime tends to be "Monster of the Week" with one big bad running the whole thing. still, i have to admit that the decepticons being a rouge band of terrorists isn't all that bad an idea.

:pfx

Too true tman.  Too true.

In Energon the cons were basically a terrorist organisation recruiting the naive and dumb alike. I prefer the Decepticon army of old thoough..

ehhh...... I don't know if I agree with that. The "army" part, that is. I think what you're describing is the fact that most of the Decepticons in G1 had no real personality, and Megatron was always having them all attack somewhere together as a group. Plus, Megatron's plans often never went beyond "let's attack this place and get its energy."  In Beast Wars, Megatron was more of a mastermind who relied on cunning, strategy and outwitting his opponent. He often split up his team, and rarely engaged in open combat. Plus, ample screen time was given to each Predacon, so you got a much better sense of the individual personality of each one.

The funny thing is, there were only eleven Decepticons (counting EVERYONE) at first, and yet it seemed like they were an army because that's what the writers said they were. So we thought "army" when we thought of them. In Beast Wars, Megatron's group was referred to as his "crew", and as he was operating in secret, that also added to the "small group" feel.

I beleive the specific 60:40 figure was with regard to Alternators.

What was the ratio in Energon or Armada - anyone know off the top of their heads (I'm too lazy to count)?
