I still hope they just write off Beast Machines :tfevil

didn't you just read what i said, they won't. Beast Machines is, and always will be, a part of the established canon whether you like it or not.

apparently they ran outta money in the end, which is why we don't clearly see the reformatted TFs, and why there isn't that much detail to Cybertron. The images you see of it in the Universe comic are much better, where it is technology intermingled with organic life. I wish I had those issues with me, i'd scan it and post it for those of you who have not seen it.

It still doesn't change the fact that Beast Machines sucked :tftongue

no it's not, the reason we're stuck with the anime is cuz takara returned to using vehicle modes with Car Robots/RiD. Beast modes are a thing of the past, and american television has gotten lazy and just prefers to redub anime cuz it's commercial. Kids eat this stuff up cuz they think it's cool. Transtech was scrapped in favor of using the anime. Their choice to do the anime has very little to do with the success (or lack there of) of Beast Machines. For every fan that doesn't like Armada/Energon/Cybertron, there's a fan who does like it. And for every fan who dislikes Beast Machines, there's a fan who does. You can't say that EVERY single transformer fan hates Beast Machines cuz you don't know that. You only know what you think and what the people you associate think about Beast Machines. I liked Beast Machines, albeit not as much as I loved Beast Wars. Heck, i like Beast Machines a lil less than I like RiD.

Where the hell did I say that?

All I said was it still sucks :tfevil

Sure it didn't :tftongue

And it is a damn shame that we will probably never see a western based show again except maybe for the live action movie. Due to the laziness of western companies and their need to save on production cost of a western based show.

But at least we will have the IDW comics...

The cartoon spin off of the movie will be anime made in america.

When the BW comic does well, I wouldn't mind a separate BM series at the same time.

I saw that. It looked pretty cool. The mixing of G1ers and Beastie bots was very cool indeed. The way the likes of Sunstreaker and Sideswipe were viewed like celebrities was clever.

which is why most cartoons you see on US television are anime. And not very good anime.

We got the JapanFormers for one reasons:

Beast Wars & Machines were produced at the Kenner offices. Yes, even after they finally removed the Kenner logo from the toys, they were still produced in those offices. A massive sales slump and financial crisis brought on by an oversaturation of Pokemon & Star Wars Episode One toys forced those offices closed and most of it staff fired. Hasbro Boys Toys relocated to the main Pawtuckett offices under a new director.

Kenner's Beast Machines sequel, TransTech, was dropped even tho it was pretty far along in pre-production. Transformers' new director hated the idea (and BM) and since Hasbro were bleeding money, TT was dropped. It was going to be cheaper for the cash-starved Hasbro to just import Car Robots, which had already proved quite popular with fans. And as it turned out, it sold like gold covered crack. It was blowing off store shelves months before Fox Kids aired the first episode.

Takara was having even worse financial problems at this time and they damn near went out of business. Hasbro & Takara decided to help each other out by teaming-up to do the next few Tf shows & toylines.

Armada sold even better than RiD, mainly because of the Mini-Cons. Little Tfs = Toy Crack. (That's why they keep recycling the Spychangers too.) It did alright in Japan, but not screamingly well. Neither did Energon or Galaxy Force, tho they did well enough. Energon did rather poorly over here, which is why Hasbro is bringing back the Mini-Cons so heavily in 2006, as well as the $3 Legends figures. So far it's doing pretty good.

Takara's recent merger with Tomy and Hasbro's growing frustration with the $#itty cartoons as well as their plans for the movie has forced them both to rethink the current strategy. Takara is taking the year off from any mainline TFs, while Hasbro spends 2006 multi-tasking on Cybertron's second season, a bazillion Mini-Cons, a totally renewed Alternators brand and the Beast Wars 10th Anniversary line. They're trying to get both G1 and BW back on TV in 2006 as well. This will all be used as the build up to the new Heroes line next Christmas and the movie summer 2007.

It's too early to discuss specifics of the next TF cartoon, but Aaron has already stated that it will be written in the West again, and if Takara wants it, they will export to Japan just like G1 and BW were.
