reissue disapointment

Recommended Posts

okay as we all know the hasbro reissues are on sale at tru.

i decided to make a trip to tru and buy one,i had held off because i cant see spending 33$ on one of the 1984 cars.

i was debating wether or not to buy one because i was let down before.

in series 1 i bought the prime reissue, well needless to say i got home and his stacks where chopped.i thought that hasbro had decived me[box art shows prime with full stacks],so i vowed never to buy another.

well i narrowed the choice to prowl or streak,i already have the takara prowl so i was leaning toward streak.well,i sure am glad i talked to scotty before i bought him.it seems hasbro almost got me again, the streak box art shows the anime version that i want, well i open the box and realize that he is just silver....why does hasbro do this,to fool people who trust them and dont open the box.

well enough about that i bought prowl and over all he is okay, but i dont like the fact that the launchers are disabled and for some reason hasbro was to lazy to chrome his weapon.boy am i glad i didnt spend 33$ on a reissue.

now to hasbro's credit i also bought skywarp[because takara has yet to issue a collection version] and i am pleased with him.

I like my reissues because I'm a scrooge. If I can get my hands on anything from my childhood fairly cheaply I'll do it. So far I have all the Hasbro Re-Issues.. exluding Powermaster Op, Optimus Prime, and 'Rodimus Major (should be minor.. it would make more sense)' .. to me it makes more sense, rather than getting some beat up peice of crap and spend $150 on it.. my collection is for show.. so if the missles fire, or the weapons modified, I don't care. Atleast it's complete and as new as you can get. Takara has a more impressive line up.. in some cases.. and I love the extra things they included. But I don't live in Japan, and usually that stuff can get quite a bit over priced depending on what Online Vendor/Comic Store you frequent.

Thats my two cents.. =P

The only ones I like are skywarp and starscream.

Silverstreak has no black hood because back in the day, Bluestreak never had a black hood (heck, he was pictured as blue). Takara did the same thing with their re-issue. So they are true to the original release.

The only way to get black hood Streak is to buy the eHobby Anime Streak, which is out of production and can but not necessarily be pricey. Or paint it yourself.

The changes to the toys are out of Hasbro's hands. They're done to get the toy to market.

The lack of chrome on the weapons doesn't mean Hasbro is lazy...It means they couldn't use the hard enamel plastic required to undergo Electroplating, due to safety concerns with them breaking, so they had to use a softer vinyl plastic, which CANNOT be chromed/electroplated.

That IS interesting. Where do you find such wonderful production information? Any sites you can recommend? Thanks! :thumb

but your missing the point, hasbro is deciving us.

the box pics clearly show him with the black hood

you know the hasbro reissues have windows you can look into and see the toy. open the front flap of the box. you aren't being decieved, you just aren't looking hard enough. i've collected toys since i was very young and even then i knew to look at something in every way possible before buying it. production changes occur, the boxart is normally done up way ahead of time when said changes occur. they're not paying to change it. give hasbro a break for crying out loud, they've got better things to do than sit there and think of ways to be devious to all of us TF nerds. notice i said all of us. peace.
