aw crap, i was really hoping that Galvatron wasn't going to be in the show and that the character was a toy exclusive. repainting Megatron into Galvatron is such a needless and pointless concept that it serves no purpose other than allowing Hasbro to keep the trademark on the name :tdown

^At least this time he will actually be called Galvatron in both countries.  So the dub of him becoming Galvatron won't be as retarded as it was in Armada and Especially Energon.

I'd prefer they alternated the name every two years over just naming a repaint Galvatron. They don't even need to be connected. BWII Galvatron is a good example.

i just want the up-grade to have a story significance. it wouldn't be that hard, either. just a simple comment saying that Megatron is a different color because of the galvanization process that made his armor stronger. but really, that's about the only thing a repaint can symbolize: a reinforcing of a tf's armor. for all intents and purposes, a repaint's fire-power and other abilities remain the same.

Anyone else notice that like Armada and Energon, Megatron got his upgrade in episode 41? :D

At least Japan gets it right. They wait until after the whole series before Megatron turns into Galvatron. Not a once a year bit like in the US. I swear, Megatron is like Dr Jekyl and Mr Hyde over here.

you know, that would be so much cooler if HasTak did it that way instead of the galvanization being a once-per-series deal. they could make it so that whenever Megatron gets really angry, he becomes Galvatron and goes nuts. afterwards, he reverts back to Megatron when he depletes his energy reserves.

Interesting idea, but I think it would come off as too Super-Saiyonish to really work.  Besides - I personally hate any Megatron repaint becoming Galvatron.  It's only since Car Robots that it even became the norm... before that, each upgrade was a new design.  I for one would prefer a return to the days of the upgrade being more like a beefed up design of the original character.
