I'll have to find a 3rd way to do SS's doors though, since how they have him on the back panel is how I have DeadEnd's doors.

I have Dead End's behind the arms, with the wheel rims facing back.  I think it looks pretty good... but SS will prolly adopt that look, and I'll do the "wing" thing for DE.

Looks good but this removes the option of being able to put the toy back into the box.

Oh, and just to make Hunter feel better: I have exactly ZERO Alts MIB... they're all open and on display (or disassembled on my project table :tflaugh).  I want the boxes for future storage, the red ones do a damn fine job of it.

Urm.. it looks like you'd just flip open the back lid and slide out the inner plastic blister which I suspect would be separate like they are in BTs.

 

As an MISB kinda guy, I like it.  Though since Alts're like half the price of BTs and plastic, with not-so-great looking boxes, I'd always treated them as ones you open and play with.  The two issues I have are: (1) stacking these puppies seems like you'd get wear marks on the topmost plastic, and (2) how'm I gonna bubblewrap these??

 

Ah well.  I really hadn't at all considered getting Sunstreaker until seeing this.  It's one o' the first times I ever seen yellow actually look sexy an' not fruity like his original toy.  The stripes definitely help give ruggedness.  =)

i dont know why everyones so mad over how to open the new box, just pull the lips ( in red), then cut a u-shape in the plastic and presto...then all you have to do is close the box lid , no damage to the box and you can still use it for display or restorage

Wow that's pretty neat, let's hope it's actually that easy.

 

And I'm still torn on Alt and BT Sunstreaker after seeing the Alts bot mode. I still like the BTs bot mode more but that means more money.  :tfsad

 

And check it out, they goofed on Sunstreaker's box art, no Autobot logo and the rear window part is in green.

 

 

And check this out, it says removeable convertable top. Perhaps he has been remolded?

 

i'm a 'con' for this type of packaging.

 

i always hated bubble-carded packaging... makes it so much harder to keep the packaging 'clean' after opening.

 

if htey had to follow cybertron packaging, i'd rather they follow every other price point cybertron packaging, EXCEPT carded...

i kindof like the new packaging... but it'll be tough to display one on top of the other.

oooh there's been a numberplate change from the test shots to the production version....

 

 

And the production toy has the red viper logo on the hood, but the test shot didnt.
