i don't want the cons to be the same tf race

Recommended Posts

most of all the tf series tend to end with the cons being exterminated or damn near so. it just doesn't fit in with the autobot mentality to exterminate half of their entire race due to political differences. and if you factor in the Primus creation story then you open an even bigger can of worms: Primus creates the tf race, the cons branch off and become violent, and then Primus is perfectly fine with the "Good Children" killing all the "Bad Children" rather than wanting all his children to eventually resolve their differences and reunite. yes, there should be a war but i think it would be better if the conflict was resolved at the end with peace between the two factions. if this isn't going to happen then the cons' origins need to be changed: make all of them the children of Unicron or a completely unrelated invading force. at least that way whiping them out would feel more like self-defense on the bots' part rather than genocide.

Nobody said the Autobots are heroic except for themselves and the puny flesh creatures they protect.

and what series is this extermination in?

hey Hornet, if you get a chance, read the Generation 2 comics by Marvel.  They hint there that the Decepticons were a different race; the offspring of the "Liege Maximo".  However, they never get around to expanding on that fact because they ended the series.  I've always been angry that they never finished it up to tie up this loose end.

like humans thier are good and bad people and somtimes you need to fight to protect stuff IMO that autbotsonly fight to stop the cons from wiping them out

In, well almost every series I've seen the Autobots stop fighting as soon as they can. BW had it's Pax Cybertronia (and let's not get into a debate about how fair or unfair that agreement might have been for the Preds and Decepticon decendants), Energon started off with a truce. Even in Season 3 of G1, they could've gone and destroyed all of the 'Cons on Char, but they left them be.

I always find it odd, when watching TFTM, how the Autobots continue to fire on the Decepticons as they retreat from Autobot City.  War is war and all, but it doesn't strike me as being particularly heroic.

Leige Maximo only says he's the father of megatron, not that he's the father of the decepticons.

Well... Transformers have human-like emotions, thoughts, and bodies. The better for us to relate to. And we as a race have tried to exterminate each other due to political\color\religious differences...

As for heroism, it can be spun either way. Some folks have called the Enola Gay pilot a hero.

The book Hardwired (though full of crap and spelling errors) made it very clear that at times only the autobots saw themselves as heroes. Most humans just saw the TF's as a race that couldn't get along with both sides having good and bad points.
