Masterpiece Skyfire

I just used photoshop and some cartoon screen caps to make a rough assembly.

I plan to use .22 gauge steel and bend it to shape using a brake to give sharp lines. Styrene would work just as well but I do bodywork and prefer to fabricate with steel.

These pieces are fairly straight forward. The original leg vents can be used in the chest panels as well.

The transform is basic. The chest/window panels open as usual and the cockpit will be hinged at the upper body. The arms will flip up as shown and follow a modification I will later explain.

There should be enough room to slip these around after the alteration. Some cutting is planned on the upper cab as the side vent areas will take up some of the cutaway space.

With the arms on the underside, the backpack sits back down against the body. It may be possible to create a cargo bay in the underside using Primes old matrix slot and keeping the same transformation.

Here's an outline of the arm to body mods.

This is what Prime should look like without the add ons.

The wings and pack can be easily molded. The wings will need to swivel forward by pinning them further back in the pack compartment so the wings shorten as the fold up and in for bot mode.

All that's left is to remold Primes Legs, arms and head to match Skyfires then spray. It may be difficult but not impossible. Luckily, Skyfire doesn't resemble a real plane so this Bash doesn't require a miracle.

if you pull this off i shall consider u a tformer god ive lways wanted to see a show accurate skyfire my favorite character until they killed him off

I'd like to ask that if anyone hears of a cheap MP Prime for sale, gimme a PM. It doesn't need the Megatron gun, matrix, or axe but the blaster could be modified to resemble Skyfires quite easily.

good idea!!!support you

we all love MP series....hope Takara can issue next MP figure

Looks very promising.  Like you said, difficult indeed but not impossible.  Make sure to post WIP pics so we can see how its going and perhaps help with suggestions.  Good luck.  :thumb

I'd think the new Starscream would make a good base for a Skyfire.  Its a lot cheaper to use as well, and already has a lot of the basic components built in.

Figure a way to make the legs go backwards, redo the arms some what and you already have the nose cone and basic transform elements.  Add on some better joints and presto!  (Yea if it was really that easy, but easier than MP1)

good idea. big sarscream can instead of convoy. we often first thinking is use MP...

Well, a lot of the best kitbashes utilize joints already existing rather than improvising on a base figure. Cybertron SS definitely has a lot going for it in the potential idea department.
