Peter- I know very little about Photoshop actually, so my process is very straightforward. I use the polygonal lasso tool, and adjust the hue and saturation of the selected area. And I check "colorize", because it bonds the color to the plastic in a more natural-looking way. Sometimes.

 

It might work Primal-Convoy, but I can get a better result with a higher quality image. If I had the toy, I'd just use my camera and photoshop that. The closest I have is BW Neo Sharpedge, though. I'm sure I can find a decent image of Cybershark somewhere.

I never thought a boat would make a good update of a G1 space-plane, but after seeing your work there I can totally identify w/ the concept! Same critque as everyone else - the colors are great, but there could stand to be more highlights/color changes to break up the duo-tone color scheme.

Ya know I just checked out the appearance of Shockfleet in the clip of this week's SL toon and since they like having the bots ignore the rules of physics then I suppose a Scourge repaint would be good.

I read that, thought about it, liked the idea, then tried it out.. Ok, it's not the toy, but it's the closest pic to E-Mirage i got :P
