So I watched the deleted scene from BW

Recommended Posts

and I'm not at all surprised they cut it.  It was 10 seconds, and very fast.  If I didn't know what it was going to be, I wouldn't have understood it.

and for those who have the S3 DVD set but haven't seen it:

1. put in disc 2

2. go to scene selection

3. go forward past Nemesis pt 2

4. View

Optimal Optimus sticking G1 Megatron's spark back in his body.

very very quickly.  the whole scene lasts barely 10 seconds.

oh..

Shows it being yanked out of BW Megatron and jammed back into G1 Megatron....

I also heard there was a storyboard at least (not on the dvd's) of Primal grabbing the transwarp cell (that Megatron mentions having put in Nemesis) as he leaps out of the control tower that never made it to the scene stage.

Really two scenes that only observant (read petty) fans would've complained about their exclusion. They break up the flow of the episode, which is already rushed.

Actually, they leave a couple of pretty large plotholes in the story, namely that G1 Megatron's spark was apparently never returned, and that a short range shuttle without a Transwarp drive could get back to the Maximal/Predacon era Cybertron.

Thanks for the tip :thumb.  I've had the series on DVD since my birthday, but I never knew about the easter egg.  Exceedingly brief, as has been said.

Bob Skir, the head writer for BM, got so many questions about G1 Megatron's spark that he had to put what happened to it in an faq update. leaving that scene out was an incredibly stupid mistake.

Edit: it's hard NOT to miss, if you think about it. sure, you could infer the spark was returned, but there's NOTHING hinting that happened. it would be in Optimal Optimus' character to do so, but in the heat of battle it could have very well been forgotten.

actually it did show primal fly out of the exploding nemesis with the transwarp cells in his hand. just not him grabbing it. if thats the only thing you meant and did notice the cells in his hand then nevermind...
