Which to get: Reverse Convoy or reissue Galvatron

Recommended Posts

I need a Megatron-type figure to lead my Decepticon Alternators. I am trying to decide between Reverse Convoy or reissue Galvatron.

Rev. Convoy has a semi-realistic tank mode that would go well with the Alternators. I liked the Galvatron character in the animation and the reissue will be painted to match. But I do not like the disproportion and low articulation look of the G1 toy.

I do not like the Armada, Energon or Cybertron molds.

Finally, can anyone tell me how tall are the robot modes for Reverse Convoy and G1 Galvatron?

Thanks all in advance.

get galvatron. rev convoy is about deluxe size. like hotshot. galvys prolly yht e same size as the energon combiners if not a lil bigger.

Reverse Convoy = ~6 inches, about ~$30+ to import

Galvatron = 10 inches, about ~$72+ to import

Comparing the two on the shelf..... Reverse Convoy is about half the size of Galvy, and a good deal shorter than any of my bt's.

Seriously though, I think you're limiting your scope. If you want an awesome Megatron to lead your forces; G2 Megatron and Energon Megs/Galvatron would be better picks.  Or Beast Wars TM2 Megatron, he's dreamy.... :luv

Energon Galvatron. If he's too big, the SuperLink version. He looks almost exactly like G1 Galvatron's cartoon model and he's far cheaper.

so,you don't like anime color galvatron?SL galvy may be can fit for your deceptions.

G2 Megatron is awesome.  I'd go for that.  Maybe some kitbashing would make it fit better alongside the alts.  I've wanted a G2 Megatron for years, which is funny since I remember not wanting one when it came out.  I'll settle for Megastorm :thumb.

g2 megs is cool but the turret cant move :( plus "megatron attack" gets anoying fast

IMO you should wait for Galaxy Force galatron

Thanks for all the replies.

Looks like Reverse Convoy is out - too short to intimidate the Alts. I am okay with E. Galvatron BUT those wings and that oversized tank-on-arm killed the deal for me.

I am leaning towards reissue G1 Galvatron. At 10 inches (thanks Thad_Impaler!) he has a better chance at a staring match with my Masterpiece Convoy and lording over all those Decepticon Alts. What I would love is an actual Masterpiece Galvatron with anime proportions and colors and with my luck Takara (oops Tomy) would announce one after I get the reissue.

Haggisman, thanks for the show & tell; TM2 Megatron is one of my Transformer Toy Regret - I regret not buying him - waited for after-Christmas sales and when that came around he was gone from the shelves. Blitz - I must admit that GF Galvatron does look good (though more dark rich purple paint would help) and I am tempted to change my mind; maybe I will get Cybertron Megatron and put it on my shelf with Masterpiece Convoy to see how they match up.

Time to start saving those pennies for reissue G1 Galvatron...

PS: Anyone knows how much was Galvatron when he first came out?

Galvatron was $40 back in the day, if I remember correctly. One of the more expensive ones.

G2 Megatron does look nice with Swindle and the others, but his brick-ness only becomes more pronounced when he's with them. TM2 Megatron is actually about the same height as the Alts, FWIW. From those choices, I'd honestly have to say Energon Galvatron.
